Being that we are approaching the 10-year anniversary of this event, I want to know what your thoughts are about this event. It's been a while since I have watched it, but from what I recall, I remember the best match on the card being Mick Foley vs. Edge. I also enjoyed the two world title matches, and also Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus, as well as the Money In The Bank match.
What did you think of this? I might watch it soon.

It set the stage for John Cena's relationship with the fans. Things had been brewing for months, but it was during the main event that fans officially boo'd Cena and cheered Triple H. And things were never the same again

It's not a classic wrestling show from top to bottom, but there are some hidden gems in there.
As I look back on the card, there are more matches that I liked than disliked. It has one of my favorite triple threat matches ever, in the grossly underrated Randy Orton-Rey Mysterio-Kurt Angle World Heavyweight Championship match; the crowd was scalding hot from beginning to end, making a somewhat pedestrian main event feel memorable; and it's got a good bit of that "three-ring circus" mentality that wrestling needs to have. There's high-flying action and great in-ring wrestling, there's comedy and interesting characters, and there's bloody hardcore brawling.
Honestly, I think I look back on it fondly because in 2006 I was just getting back into wrestling after a four-year hiatus and WrestleMania 22 was one of the first shows I watched knowing who the characters were and what their motivations were. And while it wasn't a five-star pay-per-view, it was plenty good enough to keep me interested and keep me hooked, and here I am 10 years later still watching.
EDIT - It's also proof that you can have an 11-match card on a four-hour show and give each match enough time to breathe and tell a story without feeling rushed. Only two matches last longer than 15 minutes but only two are shorter than five minutes and each match hovers in the range of 8-14 minutes. That's what WrestleMania 32 should aspire to be.

In all seriousness, Edge vs Foley was a spectacle and a classic. Stole the show.

I always liked this show. My only gripe is that the triple threat should've gone at least 15 minutes. It was good for what it was, but Rey's title win should've been more dramatic.

As short as it was, I've always loved the triple threat World Title match. They did great for the little time they got.

Probably my least favorite WrestleMania since I had started watching. I thought the card sucked. And also was not happy with the Cena Era we were entering.

I always thought we should of got the Angle-Taker match at Mania instead of No Way Out and shove Mark Henry in the Triple Threat (Have Orton beat Kurt a couple weeks back due to Taker interference or something)

It is a very... 2006 show. Strange, strange card. That weird Vince and HBK 'match...' There is a lot of plunder for the 'spectacle' show. Foley vs. Edge is a modern classic, though.

This was the first WrestleMania dvd I bought, and the second time I met Cena, he autographed it for me

This was my first live event and i couldn't believe Triple H tapped out. Just after he buried guys left and right and i refuse to believe that Triple H didn't want to bury Cena. The guy has no problem burying others in main events or other ppvs but he openly taps out here. F**k that

Loved Foley v Edge. Lita plays her part in that too. Brutal match but brilliant story telling. Complete opposite to the Boogeyman match which was the drizzling shits and was based on pushing a comedy guy who ate worms and couldn't wrestle.

I forgot to mention Shawn Michaels vs. Vince McMahon. I thought that was a fun match, albeit a bit one-sided though, but I don't think it was good enough to earn Match of the Year.

I liked the banners with the roster. I liked the Edge-Foley. I liked Cena's entrance. I don't remember much else

Cena/HHH is one of my favorite WM main events just because of that crowd. Fun show.

Only two matches last longer than 15 minutes but only two are shorter than five minutes and each match hovers in the range of 8-14 minutes. That's what WrestleMania 32 should aspire to be. That's just so, so wrong when you consider a potential classic between three of the greats in close to their primes was cut short to a pathetic 11 minutes when it should have gone 20+. Get the Playboy Pillow Fight and the Boogeyman off the card and give the extra time to the triple threat. Honestly, we've found the absolute sweet spot in the last few years with 7-8 matches on the Main Show and an extended pre-show.

A very good show. HBK vs Vince was good fun and Mickie vs Trish was just a perfect match.
