Well, if true, it's about time. We're finally moving away from the model influx of the mid-2000s and getting a proper division again. This only seems appropriate.

Finally! I will be happy to see the butterfly go away forever. It's the old WWE Spinner Title with the butterfly logo in the middle instead of the WWE logo. If the wwe trolled like that I'd actually probably laugh.

So, the new belt is going to look like this: If this is true I will mark out so hard!!! I don´t care what anyone else says, if someone that is not a wrestling fan sees this he will think that it´s equal to the WWE Title.

The belt absolutely needed to be changed but there was no real problem with the actual word "Divas" in general. Eh... the revival of the word Diva as a positive is basically dead at this point. It was mostly a late 90's-2k thing. edit: with the new belt will this become another completely new lineage?

About damn time, both the name and belt need to go. It might as well have been called the Wear a Big Pink Bow Because in 1980s Cartoons That's How You Differentiate the Chick Character Division.

Ima be real: I haven't cared about womens wrestling since Lita/Trish. I literally tune out unless its one I think is hot (Paige).
But this is Awesome news. Why the f*** would you have called them divas in the first place?! Who likes a diva?! Male OR female?? And the Butterfly belt?? You're telling me "This Division Doesnt Matter".
Really stoked if this is true. I might start caring again.

Why the f*** would you have called them divas in the first place?! Who likes a diva?! Male OR female?? . I imagine people who like Opera like Divas. Also as I mentioned, the Term Diva had a resurgence in popularity in the late 90's to like 2010, going back to it's original meaning of a massively talented woman.

Right, I know, and it was sorta empowering at the time, but I thougt it was a little silly too then and is especially outdated now in the last few years. Im a feminist but I hold women just as accountable. Which is why I think this is awesome. Ya got a male division and a female one. Simple. Equal. Makes sense.

Big fan of all these changes. With the survivors of the diva search/Johnny Ace bikini catalogues days basically over, and the NXT girls labeling themselves as wrestlers, its time to say bye to the Hannah Montanna belt

As I alluded to Opera Singers are also still called Divas. But as I also said I'm not against changing the title or the division's name.

I'm just not into this idea that "the word Diva is the root of all the problems with WWE's women's division" that some people seem to be parroting when it should be really low on WWE's list of priorities. It comes off more as a bandaid to avoid addressing a bigger problem.

I'm just not into this idea that "the word Diva is the root of all the problems with WWE's women's division" that some people seem to be parroting. It might help. Connotation goes a long way and could help change the mindset of the female wrestlers. "You're not a diva. You're a wrestler. And the top prize no longer looks like something a fifth grader drew, its the Exact. Same. As the Top Male Prize".

Meltzer has been alluding to this lately on the radio show. Nothing direct, but saying stuff like "not for long" and "come Monday" and all that. I'm pretty excited if that's what is happening.

I'd hope they keep the lineage of the Divas title, it's a fairly good representation of the Divas of the late 2000s-2010s: Michelle McCool, Maryse, Mickie James, Jillian, Melina, Eve, Alicia Fox, Natalya, Brie Bella, Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix, Nikki Bella, Layla, Kaitlyn, AJ Lee, Paige and Charlotte Not a non-wrestling Diva or 28 year title run in sight!! And there are some currently active Divas, i.e. Alicia and Natalya (most likely) will never get the title again so it'd be good to keep them in the current lineage.

I was under the impression from the way PWInsider was talking about it that the new belt would be a smaller version of the World Heavyweight Championship (Big Gold Belt) and not a smaller version of the current WWE Title.

Hopefully it's true. Aside from the obviously negative implications of calling someone a "Diva", it does seem weird when NXT calls them women yet the main roster calls them something else. I don't know. I still want someone with a "Fifth Element" Diva gimmick, complete with blue skin and giant antenna on the back of her head, and paired with a dude with a Ruby Rhod gimmick.
