Finn Balor is officially the John Cena of NXT
Both have dumb finishing moves and they never lose.

Lackluster doesn't describe it. It felt flaccid. If penises are a rating scale, it was a very lowly penis. Sami v Nakamura gets a rating of my shlong out of 5

Eh, I thought it was creative and suited the story, and the whole match was really good.
Was fine.

I agree with what everyone has said so far on the side of the finish wasn't bad. Let me ask those who hated it; knowing Finn had to win, how else would you have booked it? A DQ wouldn't make sense with how bad Joe wants the belt. The Coup De Grace would have made Joe look weak. What else do you do? NXT unlike WWE, hasn't killed the finisher kick out. Kick out of the stomp, job to the 1916.

Responds by kicking Joe in the head to keep him down then doing the stomp again, then a third time without trying for the pin in-between and getting the three that way. Puts Joe over as a tough bastard who takes a ton to put down and can still sell it as Balor being needlessly aggressive.

First, I wouldn't have booked a rematch unless Joe was winning or there were some shenanigans going on. Finn already beat him clean. But besides that, I would've had the finish at least be a subversion of the Bret Hart finish instead of outright doing it. And if it was an option, I would've had Balor get outside help to win, or cheat. Basically, there needed to be a reason to do the rematch. Finn winning clean again, with a roll-up, isn't a good reason.

I think they had to improvise and end the match sooner than planned because of Joe's cut. And if that was the case and they just did that on the fly, they did a good job. But yeah, it was kinda just flat and out of nowhere.
However, when Joe ws getting pinned, I was thinking "Come on, Joe. Haven't you seen WrestleMania 8 before?"

Balor's a chode and this soggy cracker of a match and finish didn't do much to change my opinion. Harsh but I agree. I haven't been able to get into a single one of his title defenses. Hopefully his friends and a heel turn make him more interesting.

They could have him feud with someone, but make that person look so weak that Finn thinks he doesn't need the Demon, only for the opponent to catch him by surprise.

Yeah I wasn't a big fan of the ending but that match was really good despite all the ref stopages. Joe looked like an absolute monster.

It seemed rushed. Great match and I don't think the ending ruined it, but it just felt kinda flat
