Yeah, was a decent but unspectacular match, with a bad ending and the wrong guy winning to boot. Sour note to end on to be sure, but rest of the show was pretty damn good at least.

Definitely a letdown ending, but hey, I saw Nakamura/Zayn have a perfect wrestling match, I'm not going to complain.

I don't get the hate. They had to go home early, they came up with a spot. It was a spot that's been done before. It was the spot that ended Hart/Austin 1 and that wasa **** match.

Just because it worked in that match doesn't mean it works in this one. It came out of nowhere and if they really wanted to end it early, why not just have Balor pin him after that dumb stomp of his two seconds prior?

NXT seems to have this thing where they don't want all three titles to change hands on the same show.
I'm fine with the ending. I thought Joe was winning so it managed to be a surprise, even though that was the spot that seemed to be coming.

Lackluster doesn't describe it.
It felt flaccid.

That whole thing felt rushed. Even Balor's entrance felt rushed.

Lackluster doesn't describe it. It felt flaccid. If penises are a rating scale, it was a very lowly penis.

Balor's a chode and this soggy cracker of a match and finish didn't do much to change my opinion.

if you watch the match in reverse, you've got an hell of a match.
bummed cause they had an amazing off the gates start and ending with a roll-up. Still good match

I loved the match and had no problem with the finish. It was a fight above all else, and the only reason Finn won was because Joe wouldn't let go of a chokehold.

I thought it was a really good match and a good ending. You'd have to assume Joe is going up and good luck to him, deserves it.

I thought it was weird how in the pre-match package they had Joe's line of how "He didn't beat me, he barely survived" and then this match ends in with Balor winning in a not particularly convincing way.

I thought it was weird how in the pre-match package they had Joe's line of how "He didn't beat me, he barely survived" and then this match ends in with Balor winning in a not particularly convincing way. exactly, keeps Joe strong for the future since Samoa Joe wasn't decisively put away; and it keeps the storyline going if they ever do the 3rd in the trilogy down the line. assuming Joe isn't getting called up, which is the only reason I can think of that Finn won. unless they're still waiting on the Itami match. I'm a huge Balor mark and this was Joe's time. He had the crowd in his hands like he used to have, personally I would have had Finn drop it and debut Sunday at WM with BC in the Shane vs. Undertaker match. Sets up a year long feud for Balor vs. Undertaker in Taker wanting revenge, and keeps Taker strong in losing to Shane.

It does bother me, but it doesn't. I wanted Joe to win, but I didn't have a problem with the finish. At least it was an obvious fluke and the big bastard's credibility was spared.

The ending was rushed pretty blatantly.
I'm fine with Finn winning... they do need to actually put momentum on that heel turn they've been hinting at forever... though thinking it over it being against Joe makes no sense.

I may be alone in thinking this, but the finish was fine. The aftermath meant much more to me.
To me, Joe's body language and facial expressions said it all. "I beat this man within an inch of his life and I lose like THIS?!"
That internal conflict Joe had about whether or not to beat down Finn after all that happened in their feud was important. He had two moments where he inched closer to the ring but ended up leaving. After all he went through in this feud, there's no way someone like Joe is going to shake Finn's hand. Simply taking the L and going backstage is all the unspoken respect he'll give.
Another poster referenced "Bret vs. Stone Cold I" at Survivor Series and I'll go one step further and say that's what this is going to go down as for Joe and Finn. A fun watch, but not the absolute be-all, end-all, absolute best match these two could give us. I'm sure they'll top this, whether it's on the main roster or with one more NXT rematch. But I'm all right with it.

I agree with what everyone has said so far on the side of the finish wasn't bad.
Let me ask those who hated it; knowing Finn had to win, how else would you have booked it?
A DQ wouldn't make sense with how bad Joe wants the belt.
The Coup De Grace would have made Joe look weak.
What else do you do?
