That is the question.
Thoughts on how they handled this in the main event? I personally feel that they should let them bleed if the cut isn't dangerous. If it was tonight we shall see. However if they do that shit with every cut i won't be impressed. Cudos to drake younger though, I felt he handled it well considering the shit he must have been getting in his ear piece and from the crowd. Also, more blood please. That amped that match up something fierce and made joe look like lesnar levels of beast.

I thought it added to the match to a certain point. Especially with Joe shoving the doctors out of his way.
They stopped the match too many times but I was okay with the first two or so...

It'd be one thing if it was some little superficial cut but that shit was right under his eye and bleeding everywhere. The stoppages were annoying but they seemed necessary in the best interest of Joe's health. Plus, other combat sports do the exact same thing if blood becomes a big issue so it's not like it's just lame old WWE.

I'll say what I said in the thread while it was happening.
Drake Wuertz deserves all the credit in the universe for tonight. Though it might be annoying for our blood lust, he was watching that cut like a hawk from the moment it happened and never missed a thing. Beyond just officiating the match, it's the refs job to help keep both dudes safe, and he did everything that a great ref should do.

If it were anywhere else but the eye, I would have been upset. You don't want to mess around with an eye injury.

I did too to be fair but that's because that sort of treatment isnt the norm, well was never the norm till now. Will get pretty old pretty fast i think.

Don't know yet how bad it was. To my untrained eye it looked no worse than any common mma cut, I could be wrong though. And yes the mma guys get treatment between rounds but for some cuts you can go 15 mins without worrying. There was blood yeah but we aren't talking Eddie cutting an artery in his forehead levels here.

I did think they stopped to once too often but considering where the cut was, I'm glad Joe was still able to see.
Also the "F*** PG" chants were completely unnecessary.

They just showed how 'smart' those smart fans aren't with that chant. I had someone on Twitter saying the same thing, I gave them the facts of the situation (that it's nothing to do with PG and to do with health and lawsuits) namedropped Abdullah but they don't have a clue who he is. Smart indeed.

In any other combat sport, a cut that close to the eye has a 50/50 chance of getting the fight called off. It's not ideal to have the flow of the match interrupted like that, but I understand the necessity of it. I think the fans murderboners were a little too stiff after that Zayn/Nakamura seventeen star melee.

Brock would have probably tried to kill the doctors.

Unless you were in the first row or two, you had no clue Joe was busted open other than the stoppages, no one knew how bad it was, just that it was killing the match.

I did enjoy a bit of blood because it made Joe seem like more of a murdering monster, the meds did get a little annoying at times but the fans were 50 times worse. They acted like ****ing babies.

Rewatching the match now...man, right after Joe got busted open, and he hurled Finn over the barricade into the security guard, I thought we were in for a classic with the blood heightening the drama.
I'm torn...obviously health concerns are a good thing. On the other hand I've watched this stuff so long and I've seen plenty of guys bleed a lot and keep going, it's hard to get used to.
