Lost of great athletes but its just another TNA in its glory days or ECW niche style late 90s audience. It would never sustain any type of real national viewership. It appeals to a niche audience.
No wonder Vince isn't a fan from all reports.

That's alright, Raw and Smackdown aren't exactly blowing the doors off with their ratings either.

If they keep poaching big enough stars I'm sure it could sell out anywhere they want to run a show. Look out for Triple H's newest signing, Big Match Jhon, jumping ship from Vincent "Stupid" McMahon's sinking ship to the best promotion in the galaxy, NXT.

I can live with that.
No pressure to kowtow to advertisers and forcing dreadful stories and characters meant to appeal to the non-pro wrestling masses.
It really does feel like a succesful ECW.

So? Are you trying to say people are stupid because they like something that wouldn't appeal to a mainstream audience? That's like creating a thread saying a film didn't gross well worldwide so anybody who enjoyed watching it is an idiot. Seems like a pointless thread.

Depends on what you consider "successful" really.. ECW came from nothing essentially and within 3 years it was a viable company for a bit of time . Just Heyman being pissed off to compete. NXT came from HHH whining to Vince to give him his own promotion and a bunch of money to start it up

It's sorta like saying that a minor league ball team wouldn't be a national draw. The assertion is factually correct, but still a quizzical statement given what the minors role is.

I don't know. NXT feels really modern and ripe for a deep fanbase in terms of discussion, art, merchandise, and other expressions of fandom. Honestly, after the Attitude Era, it feels like WWE got cheap in appealing to fans and really hasn't evolved much. NXT is a progressive, clean slate that maybe could do that. I don't think they should become a 3rd "brand", but main WWE should take some lessons in presenting itself from NXT.

Do you mean "draw" as in "sell tickets" or "draw" as in "make money"? Because an indie style fed with the WWE's production values and budget behind it I think would sell out or near sell out every arena it ran in. But I also think it would become another ECW situation where even doing that wouldn't make it enough money to keep it afloat.

That's like creating a thread saying a film didn't gross well worldwide so anybody who enjoyed watching it is an idiot. Seems like a pointless thread. I remember after Papa Meltz released some info in the newsletter about Lucia Underground not being profitable yet all the armchair experts kept bringing it up to mock the show like you somehow shouldn't enjoy it now because of that. It didn't happen here, or at least I didn't see it because I'm sure I would have had some words for it, but it's the same goofy ass principle.

The point is for all the people who believe that WWE should make everything like NXT and complain why the Mainstream product isn't "as good" as NXT.

I mean more the same rabid fans but a more financially stable brand/league more than any other comparison. It feels like this is what ECW could've been 10 years ago if Vince and Heyman compromised their visions. Still could've blown up in Trips' face, too, but he and dem boys and girls have somehow given WWE arguably the two top wrestling promotions in America (sounds like a riddle).
