RAW is live from Dallas, following what felt like the longest WrestleMania known to man. We have new champions (including one who is the same as the old champion), but the biggest change on offer didn't happen.
Tonight could have seen the start of the Shane McMahon era on RAW, but instead he crashed and burned. Shane went for it all by going to the very top of Hell in a Cell, coming down with a giant elbow drop, but The Undertaker moved, and Shane ate nothing but table from a greater height than Mick Foley on that fateful night in 1998. Taker eventually prevailed, and he's able to maintain his storied WrestleMania run. But this also means Vince and Stephanie McMahon retain control of Monday Night RAW, and tonight we could learn the big secret Shane held over Vince's head. Will Shane even be there?
Roman Reigns is back on top for the third time, defeating Triple H in a match that everyone was completely burned out for, leading to one of the flattest endings in WrestleMania history. Fans were even chanting for American Alpha, Bayley and Shinsuke Nakamura during the match. Reigns speared Stephanie McMahon enroute to his victory, and now they've gone through the growing pains of getting Reigns to this point, hopefully they'll set him up right for a decent title reign. Will Triple H go back after him, or will there be a new challenger?
The final Divas Champion was Charlotte. The first Women's Champion is... Charlotte. On the night the women became WWE Superstars, Charlotte submitted Becky Lynch with the Figure 8 in the match of the night, thanks to Ric Flair holding Sasha Banks back. You'd think The Boss will have an issue with that tonight. And what's next for Lynch?
Dean Ambrose didn't stand a chance, as Brock Lesnar crushed him with 13 German Suplexes, including off the top and onto steel chairs, and a final F5 onto the chairs got the job done. The Lunatic Fringe wanted a fight, but found himself outclassed. So what's next for him?
Is John Cena back for a full time return? Last night saw him come back to help The Rock against the Wyatt Family, after Rock had defeated Erick Rowan in just 6 seconds. Cena had claimed he is cleared to return, but will we see him in a match tonight? And how will the Wyatts respond?
In other events, Zack Ryder was the surprising winner of the IC Title Ladder Match to become the new champion - how will Kevin Owens handle that; Chris Jericho scored a win over AJ Styles to continue their rivalry, even kicking out of the Styles Clash; the League of Nations prevailed over the Booty O's box emerging New Day, only for Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin to overshadow them; and Baron Corbin graduated from NXT to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
And how many debuts will we see tonight? Enzo & Cass? Samoa Joe? Bayley? Finn Bálor and the Bálor Club? Regardless, it's the biggest and most unpredictable RAW of the year, and that's just the fans in attendance. Check it all out from 8/7c tonight on USA!
