I had a gut feeling that Zack Ryder would lose, but this was the first time in years I saw an outcome miles away and was still super pissed. I quit watching after Miz won & only this morning I found out I missed out on Cesaro and Team Amore.
Nonetheless, I'm still pissed they did a stunt like that where they hot potato the belt to a guy who will do nothing with the belt. What's even more depressing is the fact that the motivation for the match was Miz complaining about having his WrestleMania Moment (which is now quite the loaded term) stolen, & this guy main evented WM 27. I mean, come on.

The only thing we can hope is that Zack wins the belt back on Smackdown tonight and that it was just them doing the whole Kalisto thing over again.

I don't think Miz having main evented a prior main event would be an issue, except for the fact that half of his entire gimmick hinges on the fact that he has done that.

Honestly, once you get past the initial "thanks you guys, this is my dream, woo woo woo" promo, what else does Ryder have to offer? He's decent but not great in the ring and just sounds like a goof when he speaks. If he wasn't even on the Mania card no-one would have blinked. Be happy he got his payday and his moment.

He can offer being a guy who is over and who the audience seemed 100% ready to give a second change to. WWE bungled his push the first time around, and people were hopeful that this was his second chance. I'm generally apathetic toward the guy myself, but he gets good reactions, and it's nonsense that they still won't run with him after all this time when he's improved and people still want him. The least they could have done is stretch the feud out until Payback and see if he could actually sustain a good reaction. Hell, I'm sure if he had the IC title and a decent Miz feud stretched out over weeks instead of 48 hours, he'd probably get some good merch numbers out of it, to the benefit of him and the company.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm glad Ryder's in the Ziggler territory these days. A solid midcarder who can be used to help propel others. He's got a fanbase, his look has tremendously improved, he's good in the ring, he's a nice midcarder with a lineage behind him. He's also only 30 and when you look at the fact he's a former US, IC and tag team champion that's pretty impressive. He got the WM moment, he got the paycheck, got the girl, he's fine. Sure, he's not going to be main eventing but he's good.

Really? That was my favourite moment of RAW. The reaction when Ryder won at 'Mania in the bar I was in was more venomous than when Reigns won the title later in the night, and I shared their sentiments. He offers nothing and never has. Miz has legitimately become a decent midcard heel, I have no desire to see him in the main event scene ever again but he's really effective in the midcard.

What was he going to do? I don't even know why they gave him the belt, he's been a job guy since like 2012.

Maybe because he's a decent, solid worker who a lot if fan support before he was a "job guy" and his push coming to a screeching halt in a sad turn of events. This was finally an opportunity for a deserving person to finally get a good push.

Neville bein hurt is the only reason he was even IN the thing. There was never any long term plan for him. If anything it was neat for him and his fans that he got a Mania payday and "hey, thanks."

I am pretty sure the only reason they gave Ryder that win was as a thank you for going down to NXT and working hard and helping Mojo Rowley learn a bit. He could have copped an attitude over than assignment, instead he has made the best of it, improved his look, and made the best of it. I don't think it was meant to be a long reign.

He got his moment. Singular. Meaning just one.
RAW was a brand new day and it was time to get back to business as usual and titles are just for the big dogs.

This is why WWE should never bother doing "thank you" deals like this. Rather than the fans of the wrestler being happy their guy got a small moment in the sun, they complain that it didn't magically turn into some major push.
The guy (and his dad) got a great moment on the biggest stage. And, presumably, a nice paycheck. That's all it was and all it should be.
He came down the ramp on Raw to crickets. That was the most telling indication that WWE didn't need to try to take it any farther.

I'm a huge Ryder mark, he's my favorite wrestler ever, and I'm okay with last night. Ryder seems happy with it and I didn't expect it to go too long anyway. Got to see him winning the title and the crowd chant "You deserve it" at him for however little that was.

Definitely think it was a simple "thank you" moment to him from the company. Wonder if he's the mysterious "some will be happy" newz that they're leaving when their contract expires.

I knew it was coming too. I'm not happy with it either. But at least he had an arena full of people telling him he deserved it, so even if WWE doesn't think so, he has that memory forever.
