Thoughts on this match? Is it one of the greatest of all time? People really seem to love it to death or completely dislike it. Definitely a ***** rocketbuster

I enjoyed it but if I was too make a list of my favourite matches of all time it would maybe struggle to crack the top 100. Still great match but jot as great as other matches from those guys I thought.

One of my favorites ever, I can't imagine anyone disliking it. The feud leading up to it was what a Wrestlemania feud should be: full of heat, full of surprises, something happened on every Raw and Smackdown, it was an actual story... My favorite Wrestlemania buildup of all time.

It was everything I expected it to be.
Both men had better matches with other people, but because you had quite possibly the two best wrestlers of their generation in the same ring...yeah, you better believe I'm a fan of it.

One of my all-time top ten matches. HBK made Angle look like a f***ing beast in this one. Absolutely stole the show that night.

It's my favorite match of all time. Its a prime example of how someone like HBK can look strong in defeat. The match was just intense from start to finish, and the way it ended with Angle besting Shawn by not breaking the lock until all of his determination drained out of him was amazing.
Its even better than Macho Man vs. Ricky Steamboat at WrestleMania 3 was.

I thought their match at Vengeance later that year was superior, but it was still one hell of a match regardless.

The match was an epic with impeccable performances, especially Angle. Both men still came out strong despite the result and it's one of the first classics I remember seeing early on. I want to watch back to back with HBK vs. Undertaker at WM26, the last 10 minutes of both matches are insane.

I was so torn. HBK is one of my all time favourites but that night I was shouting "tap! Tap, you f***er!" At my TV. Awesome match.

I loved it at the time but I have to say I kind of forgotten about it. It really was a dream come true when they booked this.

Yeah in my top 10.
One of my all-time fave spots was the superkick. Kurt picks up a lifeless HBK , holds him by the head , pulls him close and starts screaming " Your days are DONE Shawn....they're donTHWACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I saw it live, I liked it (although I thought Money in the Bank and Orton/Taker were better matches on that show). When I watched it again a couple years ago, I didn't like it. This was was one of the first finisher-kickout fests that threw psychology out the window and just focused on doing a bunch of pretty moves to momentarily pop the live crowd. It's the style that Kurt Angle would copy for the rest of his career and have dozens of nearly identical, uninteresting matches. Shawn would copy this style in his matches with Undertaker, which in turn would be copied by the rest of the roster and create a new big match style that is doing great harm to their product.
So, in hindsight, you can say I'm not a fan.

I don't see how anybody could dislike this match, and I'm not even that big of a fan.

One of my favourite matches to be sure, but looking back, it started the big trend of Wrestlemania matches having a million kick-outs/zoomed in shot of the wrestlers utter disbelief spots in them.
