Raven was face in TNA for awhile as well. Also when that Raven v Punk feud was happening, they seemed to switch the face/heel roles depending on the promotion.

tito santana and ricky steamboat are the go to answers for this one They are indeed - they're exactly who I was going to suggest for career faces. What about Kevin Sullivan as a career heel - he's never struck me as a buyable face.

Rey was heel in WCW as part of the the New Blood. I also want to say the filthy animals were heels for a bit in 2000.
What about Umaga/Jamal?

Then, in WWE, he couldn't put pressure on his heel, becausehe had surgery 5 times in his left knee

What about Kevin Sullivan as a career heel - he's never struck me as a buyable face. Was a clean-cut bodybuilder babyface for years before going to the darkside. Had several face runs after that, including his team with Cactus Jack. King Kong Bundy? Adrian Adonis? Bundy started his first run in World Class as a babyface friend of the Von Erichs before turning on them and becoming KKB. Adonis was a face in his pre-Adonis days.

Had a brief face turn in WWE, teaming with Cena. Lasted bout a month or so.

I was going to ask about Ultimate Warrior, but a quick read of Wikipedia mentions that he and Sting were heels when they were The Blade Runners.

It would just crush my soul if Sami Zayn was ever a heel back at the beginning of his days in Quebec.

Was Iron Sheik ever a face, aside from nostalgia pops?

Was Iron Sheik ever a face, aside from nostalgia pops? I think that when he started he was a generic amateur wrestler babyface, he was also clean shaven, it was weird. Ok no f***ing way Ed Farhat, The original Sheik, was ever a face.

Iron Sheik was indeed a babyface as Hussein Arab.

How did Sheik being a babyface kill of Detroit? It didn't kill it off, it just helped, and was one of the first things to start that domino chain. In 1977, Sheik turned good for a while, but kept the same gimmick for the most part. He was also almost 50 years old at this point and looked horrible (edit: more horrible). He apparently did a couple of weeks where he actually spoke, then just went back to being Sheik again, but as a good guy. No one bought it, especially since more and more of the local fanbase was becoming aware that he was the promoter. The turn didn't last long and he was a heel again within a few months, but the damage was done and attendance just kept dropping the next couple of years until it was dead in the water.

Jesse froM Jesse and Festus was never a heel . I dunno it was retconned the Festus was like that because he was on drugs... so that kinda implies that Jesse was drugging him... that's pretty heelish

Was Rick Rude or Tully Blanchard ever a face? Rude was a babyface in Memphis for a while, and also in Savoldi's promotion feuding with Honky Tonk Man. Tully was a face very, very early on, and then was a face at times on the indie circuit after his big runs (notably the Heroes of Wrestling PPV) I don't recall Raven ever being a face, at lest with that gimmick. Not sure about Scotty Flamingo, Scotty The Body, etc. Raven's last WCW run was as a babyface, teaming with Saturn again against the Horsemen (and with the two of them getting some of the biggest non-Goldberg pops of the nights when they hit the ring). It was cut short when Raven got injured, and when he returned, he was a heel again as part of the Dead Pool for about three shows before leaving. He then showed up in ECW again as a face protecting Tommy Dreamer for a good while before finally going back heel. Plus, he was definitely a face in NWA:TNA when feuding with Jarrett, Larry Zzybsko, etc.

The original sheik just doesn't fit as a face, it's like when Dalton Castle came out in tna with girls instead of his boys, it's just not the same.
