Charles Tillman (who is a free agent right now) said that he will only return for another season if Carolina resigns him as he really felt he had played in Carolina his entire career after just one year (last year) before he was out for the season with a torn ACL>

Buddy Ryan passed at the age of 85.
Zurlon Tipton apparently accidentally killed himself at a car dealership today transferring guns from one car to another.

I expect him to be a superstar eventually, but is Luck a better QB than Russell Wilson right now?

Andrew Luck's new six-year, $140 million contract makes him the highest-paid player in NFL history.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't think a guy who had one of his worst years ever and missed the playoffs should be getting to be highest paid player in the league.

Luck's gonna be a superstar...if he stays healthy. And that's what makes this contract kinda baffling right after the guy had an injury plagued season partially caused by a shit offensive line. That being said, he took a team that was 2-14 before he got there and took them to the Playoffs in three straight years, going deeper every time. If he's healthy, he's worth the money, no question. BUT if the offensive line doesn't get their shit together or just flat out bad luck (see what I did there, durr hurr) strikes, this could blow up in their face big time.

This is why they just said "Smurf it!" and used most of their draft to pick up offensive linemen. Most of them, along with last year's pick Denzelle Good, at least seem capable (which is more than can be said for their choices at RG and C last year). To be honest, the only choices they made this offseason that baffle me are letting Freeman go (yes, he is getting older but he did not ask for too much and he was their best LB last year), drafting a safety in the second round (sure, Adams is getting older but the team really needed either an OLB or a CB), and choosing Allen over Fleener (sure, Allen SHOULD be better all around, but Fleener actually stays healthy).

NFL suspended free agent QB Johnny Manziel four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
The news comes one day after Manziel claimed he was getting sober (after a few more days of partying). In truth, he's lucky the ban isn't longer. Of course, when/if Manziel attempts to resume his career, he'll be facing an additional suspension for violating the league's personal-conduct policy in his domestic violence case. Manziel's path back to the NFL — if he has one — will have to include a clear commitment to sobriety between now and next offseason. Then and only then will anyone be willing to roll the dice. Even if he gets his act together, it's quite possible Manziel never gets another NFL contract. ___
Oh man, I hope this doesn't affect his comeback bid.
