High school and college games allow the use of aluminum bats. How would the majors be different if they allowed it?

Pitchers might be required to wear a helmet, and a face mask.
At the major league level, balls are thrown faster, so imagine an average fastball thrown by a major league pitcher, making contact with an aluminum bat, and coming right back at the pitcher. The MLBPA will never allow it due to the safety risk.

Major League sluggers making contact with an aluminum bat would be a tragedy waiting to happen.

They should do a Homerun Derby with them.

The best analogy I can think of is NASCAR running unrestricted at Daytona and Talladega or Indycar/F1 running at Daytona/Talladega at all. A plethora of reasons why it would be basically bad things waiting to happen even if it would be awe-inspiring to watch.
That being said, I'd be curious to see batting practice or as mentioned a Home Run Derby with them. It'd be akin to Rusty Wallace testing a car unrestricted at Talladega a number of years ago and hitting like 240mph in the straights. If anything it could be a good way to show -why- it's not practical on a day to day basis.

Safety risk. As a matter of fact in NYC High Schools and some College conferences have switched to Wood

With the 2010-11 changes in how they are regulated now, there really is no difference between wood and aluminum. In terms of safety, might actually be better to use them as they don't splinter and fly into the stands.
As an old school fan though idk if I could handle the "ping" instead of that "crack"

As somebody who has used both, I prefer wood. Doesn't hurt as bad in the chilled air if you hit the ball wrong. Hit one bad with an aluminum bat, I'd rather slam my hand in a car door.

For MLB the crack of the bat is ubiquitous. That sound should never be challenged. I do love the "ping" when I watch the CWS. Reminds me of being a kid.
Yrs ago Jim Rome did about fifteen minutes burying college baseball and made a sound board of him saying "ping ping ping PING" in an obnoxious voice. I switched him off and have literally never listened to him again. That wasn't the only reason but it was the last straw and I remember that above all things he ever said. Matter of fact I think I'll go YouTube the video of Jim Everett tackling and punching him

Never off topic. Jim Everet punching Jim Rome is one of the big jokers in the spades deck we call FAN. Use it anytime and it wins
