Okay...
I was watching South Park on UPN. Its the one where Cartman learns that he can crap out his mouth. He does it and it says "This has been edited out for your protection"...
...and literally 5 seconds later he walks up to Kyle who he had made a bet with about if you could crap out your mouth and says: "YOU OWE ME TWENTY BUCKS DICKFACE!"
If you saw the one on Comedy Central they actually show it...so its not like a joke from Matt and Trey.
First of all...why cant we show crap on network TV? And second of all...if thats not okay, then what makes cussing and names like Cartman said okay?
Man thats really stupid...

Zuh? That's weird. I have noticed things conveniently missing from syndicated South Park though.

About a month ago. They even said the "V-word".

I'd be angry too if someone tried to take away my animated poop. Profanity words, I don't care about, but poop...that's one thing that should never be taken away.
But I'm guessing some television stations won't show poo, due to how some insane folks might find it disturbing. And no one likes a potty mouth, so censor away.

There is a chance that South Park could be shown during family hours (8 to 9 in each time zone) so they (the distributers and network showing it) will slice it to pieces to protect their license and cash.

Honestly which is worse? A kid that just happened to tune into UPN at 12/11 seeing crap? Something he prolly sees everyday. Or hearing some of the other stuff you hear on South Park?

the topic here really isn't censorship in general, but its flaws in that they censored construction paper poop, but said many profane things unedited.

Yeah, I saw the Scott Tenorman episode on UPN recently, and the part where Cartman had to scold the pony because Scott "would like that" was completley gone. No censor or anything, just gone.

The language for sure but, the FCC rules prohibit any showings of bodly functions yet, due to us having "freedom of speech" they cannot expressly ban words so the language gets through as long as they have a good excuse.

Most sydindicated shows have scences cut in order to have them fill into the alloted time and allow for the maximum amont of add spots without making the show disjointed. That was probably the case there

I love how sex, the act of two (or more) people loving each other is horrible, just dreadful. But mass killings, a-ok.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I love both in large ammounts in my movies and shows, but the double standard and the things that get people's panties in a bunch seems a bit twisted to me.

I still find the phrase "for your protection" a bit scary. it seems like something out of Fahrenheit 451 except it is censoring poop instead of books. same principle though.
