I'm trying to understand what the point is for these vignettes because it's not doing anything with establishing their characters besides these two things:
1. They are from Puerto Rico, and... 2. They love Puerto Rico.
These things look more like free publicity to the commonwealth than anything else.

They will wrestle soon. How could you waste such talent and heat generated by evil tactics such as standing on a beach and eating Puerto Rican food?!

They should have stuck with the Matadores gimmick. It was enough for them as a jobber team.

I did like JBL's extremely subdued "Isn't Puerto Rico broke?" line after this weeks vignette.

Primo and Epico doing a gimmick about how great Puerto Rico is when they're on the verge of economic collapse is the most WWE thing ever.

I kinda want one of the vignettes to end like with them just turning to the camera and saying something like come on guys seriously Puerto Rico's economy is in trouble... come to Puerto Rico and help us out...

Does anything better reflect the out of touch mindset of Vince McMahon to have a (probably) heel gimmick in 2016 that is based upon people being proud of being from a country that isn't the United States?

I'd honestly say not entirely. But The fact that they chose Puerto Rico which ISN'T another country is.

I would actually love the gimmick if they went that direction but I doubt WWE is capable of pulling it off. Or that Vince even knows whats happening.

I hope they are going to be so goofy with their unconditional appreciation of all things Puerto Rico that it ends up being a babyface gimmick. At least that would be fresher.

If Savio Vega is their manager, this gimmick might work.

This has to be the worst timing for vignettes ever, just as Puerto Rico is in the spotlight because of their economic crisis and huge debt WWE makes a Puerto Rico travel agency gimmick. I thought Vince was atleast up to date on economics news

We live in an age where preaching the power of positivity is a heel thing, so this gimmick somehow makes sense.

They should have stuck with the Matadores gimmick. It was enough for them as a jobber team. The problem with the Matadores gimmick was that it was solely a vehicle for Torito's antics while Primo and Epico were largely forgotten.

It meant they could focus on wrestling while Torito appealed to the crowd.
