No its not the three seashells.
I'm wondering if Cocteau's society was only in San Angeles, or was it in play all over the country. It's never actually made clear. The only things mentioned that seem to go beyond the realm of San Angeles are the every restaurant being Taco Bell thing, and Schwarzenegger being president. I guess we're supposed to assume that things are the way they are everywhere, but then Cocteau has his little rant about creating a perfect society. What do you guys think?

I always wondered the same. They site "the big one" a quake that leveled the three cities which wound up being rebuilt into San Angeles.
Considering they had a brand war in which taco bell won you'd need to assume shit was really hitting the fan. I'd guess the war wasn't only for San Angeles.
If I had to make a guess on my own I'd say San Angeles is a lot like Gotham or metropolis. The world does exist outside of them but the cities are used as a microcosm of the rest of the world
