What guys do you believe started out trash and became shockingly decent or dare to say good in the ring. Watching The Miz over the last few months has been a real treat because of how much he's improved in the ring. For a guy that started out as horrible as he did, it shows the dedication and time he put into it to be able to hold his own.
Who are guys you believe started out horrible and became good enough in your eyes to receive recognition?

Moose has grown in leaps and bounds over a short period of time.
Steve Corino was a guy for me who really improved over the years.

Rusev in a years span went from a average at best prospect to one of the best wrestlers in the company in a years span. Same thing with Umaga

Trish stands out for me I think because it all happened on WWE TV, she was just plan Eye candy when she started but she put in a ton of time to be a very solid wrestler, you watch her first matches and compare to that match with Lita that Main Evented Raw, it was like a whole different person in the ring.
The Undertaker is another one. He was always athletic as a big man but you compare his moveset from 91 to lets say 98. Then look at 2002 on. For a man his age adding the MMA style and other stuff is amazing. Was he ever horrible? no. But he did improved a lot.
MVP also comes to mine. For months nobody thought he was that good until that US title match at WM, he showed the world that yes he can wrestle.
Cena, as much as people love to chant he can't wrestle. The guy does deliver and gotten better over the years and is not afraid to try different moves. For a guy who can't wrestle he sure been in a lot of good matches.

Kyle O'Reilly. When I first saw him in ROH I thought he was a shitty little Davey clone, but in the last few years he's really bloomed into a complete technician.

Here's a really unconventional answer: Heidi Lovelace.
I saw her when she was just starting out. Miss Heidi was f***ing TERRIBLE. But over the years, and once we got into the punk-rock ragdoll era, she's one of the best women in North America right now. Literally ever time I see her work (pretty much monthly at AAW), something is better than the last time. She's not a 1,000 move technician, but damn if she doesn't put on a good match nearly every time out. She's made insane progress, and it's starting to show with the increased exposure she's getting in some of the bigger indies.

As far as guys no one here would have heard of... Jeremy Awesome AKA the Nightmare known as jerimiah. He went from the good in the ring but bland as hell babyface Jeremy Bourbon Street Brawler Awesome. To becoming one of the best in the deep south. All in the span of 2 years.
For people that are known... Vordell Walker. First saw him when he got shot on by Rob Steiner and he was blah. Then starting 3 years ago he was working at least 4 to 5 times a year near me. And the dude is great now.

I saw Caleb Konley for the first time back in....god, I wanna say 2003 or 2004? And he was just bland as f***. I mean, you could tell there was a hint of something there, but you'd never know he was gonna be a guy getting looked at by WWE like he is now.

Nicole Matthews. First saw her at Shimmer Volume 15 looking greener than green. Now she's one of the best in the world.

Moose.
Started out as a really sloppy power guy who most people looked over, but now he's really evolved into a fantastic performer who uses his agility in his offence tremendously. Big fan of MOOSE-UH. It's just a shame that Delirious squandered him by having him go undefeated when he was still meh, then having it get broken by Cedric Alexander who didn't get any sort of rub from it whatsoever, and now that he's actually really good, he loses all the time and looks like a goober.

When Sting first came to Mid-South, he was the drizzling spits. If he had retired that year, he would have gone down as one of the worst guys ever to step foot in the ring, on the same level as Teijo Khan or Korstia Korchenko. To see the same guy main-eventing PPVs just 3 or so years later was astonishing.
Oh, and DDP.

For a guy who can't wrestle he sure been in a lot of good matches. This is my pick as well. Beyond his silly booking at times and his superman pushes, the guy busted his ass to improve to the point where I'm shocked if Cena has a truly bad match with anyone.

Really makes you wonder how good he might have been if he started wrestling earlier in life

I don't know if I ever talked shit on them, but Princess Kimberlee has become one of the best female wrestlers period, vs Women or Men
Jakob Hammermeier also went from a basic joke punching bag to one of the best comedic heels (Who could also be a legitimate threat) in wrestling
In the WWE of most recent memory, Dana Brooke was terrible, but now she is decent in the ring and her trash talking is spectacular.
Same goes for Corbin, has worked well to get his in ring shit together but his trash talk is the best part about him.
The Revival went from "Which one is which" to "One of the best Tag Teams who just GET how to Heel Tag Team I've seen in a long time"
Another mention should go to Ethan Carter III. That dude made something happen in a company that self destructs on a daily basis...

Okada always had potential but he has seriously come into his own as an ace over the past year to make up for his absolute monster push, IMO.

Alexa Bliss and Carmella. They both started out as pretty faces with no prior wrestling training or experience, but they've both worked really hard to get better over the past year and it shows. Alexa is a great heel and is starting to get solid in the ring. Carmella is super over thanks to Enzo and Cass and steadily improving. It baffles me how they're both getting really good, yet Eva Marie is still stuck at the basics.
I'll say Baron Corbin, too. I was one of the few people who said "yeah, this guy has a great look/presence and could really be something if he works on his ring skills" when he debuted, and now, a year and a half later, he's awesome. Working with veterans/experienced guys like Samoa Joe, Dolph Ziggler and Apollo Crews really did him some big favours and he's on his way to being a great midcard heel. He does his gimmick to perfection, too.
