While I think its cool that Smackdown is going live, I do think there is a negative aspect that could come from it. At least from a fans perspective. For the longest time now WWE has treated Raw like a big deal, and has pretty much only held it in the bigger cities. Smackdown on the other hand has been taped in the smaller mid size cities that are usually a stones throw from wherever Raw was being held.
Now that Smackdown is going live I'm wondering if WWE will decide to elevate Smackdown, and also hold in only the bigger cities to make it seem like a much bigger deal. It would make sense for them to do that, but at the same time it hurts those fans in the smaller towns that don't ever have a chance of getting Raw or a PPV. I guess the argument could be made that Smackdown rarely ever sells out, and they usually tarp off half of the arena, but at the same time its pretty much because everyone knows its a taped show.
What do you guys think?

Well, they still need to be able to move all the television equipment to the next town by truck within hours of Raw ending, so I don't think there can be much of change in this regard.
It's not like Raw is going to be taped in Chicago and Smackdown in Los Angeles.

I don't like how front loaded the weekly schedule will be. On non-Network special weekends, there will be Raw on Monday, Smackdown on Tuesday, NXT Wednesday then......nothing for four days. As a kid raised on weekend wrestling, that's kind of disappointing.

It's not like Raw is going to be taped in Chicago and Smackdown in Los Angeles. Well for example I live in Evansville, Indiana. We've gotten a couple of SD tapings the last few years, and usually the night before Raw was in Indianapolis, St. Louis, or Nashville. Now if they have a Raw in Indy, they could just bypass us, and go to St. Louis. I mean there are plenty of bigger cities that aren't that far apart. But hopefully it does stay the way it does.

I'm not a good guy. I'm not a bad. I'm the guy. Well...you know...one of them. There's another on the other show now. AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA.

Can they set that all that stuff (ramp, video board, ring, lighting, sound, pyro, etc. up in mere hours?
I always assumed there was a Raw set and a Smackdown set, even though they look alike, and they went to there respective towns about the same time to set up.

I don't think Bridgeport has had a TV taping since 2012

What do you guys think? I ranked to the guy running the large arena in my hometown and he confirmed SD was going to be here in August. They're negotiating to bring Raw here, too. With two shows live the opposite may end up being true.

I really wish they'd leave Smackdown on Thursdays and just go to the smaller, easier to set-up house show set to give it a different feel.

The Edge retirement show was there, too. He has always been one of my favorites, and my brother thought I was going tocry during that one I didn't
