She has been the John Cena/ Jeff Jarret of that division for however long it's been. Outside of her short stints in WWE, one which she purely went for the money, she's been with TNA and has obviously has had her best moments in that company. Is it time for her to start "moving to the side" or can she still be the one women show. One would think she's starting to move to the side with a new KO champ in place and Maria getting the shine on the mic. I have no desire to see her vs Maria which is what they keep teasing but it seem like(for now anyway) she's poised to either step aside for a bit or we could get the same old and she continue her dominance.
What are your thoughts on Gail? Does she need to step aside? Are you tired of seeing her?

She's great for the division since she's a veteran worker that can have very good matches.
Her booking is what's bad for the division.

She's still good at what she does. Wish she had an ass though...

I'm not a huge fan of hers, but I can't think of any girls that have worked in TNA over the last few years capable of carrying the Knockouts division other then her.

Both. The division desperately needs some legitimacy, but the Super Cena-like booking has driven it into the ground anyway.

The only thing I've ever liked Gail Kim for was International Woman and she hasn't had that in ages.

Both. The division desperately needs some legitimacy, but the Super Cena-like booking has driven it into the ground anyway. This; the Knockouts have very few women who can genuinely go (Gail Kim, Jade, Courtney Rush) so Gail is super important but they push her so hard that it makes everyone else look like shit.

Agreed about both. If you're not familiar with TNA and tune into Impact, you would think Gail was the Knockouts champ. I would mention Jade she's like Bigfoot on Impact, you hear about her but never see her.

the problem they had with Gail was that they never seemed to build up a #2 face very well behind her for when she lost the title.
so when their efforts there fell flat it was 'uh-oh better get Gail back into the picture." Brooke (tesssmacher not Hogan) might have been the closest to filling that role but it was pretty much shortly after they had built her up to that point she left. Angelina was pretty much heel during her title runs, same with Madison, taryn, and so on. they'd try them as faces and it didn't seem to work out as well. and in the end they mostly feuded with Gail which kept her in the mix.
about the only time she wasn't in the title hunt was when gail vs kong feuds 2-12 took place and some of them involved the title too so there she was again.

There was plenty who could've been. Taylor Wilde, Roxxi, Hamada, Sarita, to just name a few. Any of them could've easily been the face of the KO Division when Gail left in 08. The list of female talent they've wasted is nearly as long as the men, yet they insisted on keeping The Horrendous People around because Ditzy feels she didn't do right by them.

As far as I'm concerned, Gail MADE the KO division back in the day.

At this point, does anything matter in TNA anymore? It's like ordering new freight when your store is about to go out of business that night.
It seems like the only reason TNA is around is for Dixie Carter's ego and for her to have something to do.

Gail's one of my favourite female wrestlers ever, probably second right after Sasha, but I have no desire to see anything TNA related anymore. Even if they involve Maria's booty.

Both is the answer. She was super important to legitimizing it originally. But especially since she came back from the WWE they pretty much have booked her above everyone to the detriment of the division. I mean unless I'm mistaken they brought in Havok as the new monster of the division and in like her second week she was in a 50/50 brawl with Gail which did no one any favors As far as I'm concerned, Gail MADE the KO division back in the day. Not to take anything away from Gail (As I said she was important to legitimizing the division), but I'd probably give Kong the nod to the one that Made it.

The problem is that Gail is the only Knockout that is protected. Kim defeating the Dollhouse by herself in handicap matches in all of their various incantations. She beat Havok decisively when the latter needed the cred to be the monster heel of the division. No matter how much TNA built up any women, they got fed to Gail before they built any real momentum the last few years. Taryn, Brooke, and now Jade all played second fiddle to Kim. If Gail does lose, she is protected in defeat. No Knockout had pinned her in a one on one match clean since her return. I get she is the constant and the anchor but no else matter except Kim when it comes to Knockouts.

She's still one of the best they have... in a roster of 4 people.
She seems a bit off these days. Either she's lacking motivation or just can't go anymore, but I don't enjoy her matches like I used to. Like, a match with Jade 2-3 years ago would've been great, but in 2016 it was merely average and looked more choreographed than anything in the Ricochet/Ospreay match.
