Is it wrong that the sex part on the paper is more interesting to me then the arrest itself? Well, they could have just looked: "Officers found the defendant, later identified as Ryen August Russillo, lying on the bed in the south bedroom naked except for his pants around his ankles,” the probable cause affidavit states."

For those a bit worried, Russillo will be back on the air next Wednesday.

He'll probably apologize for his actions at the start and leave it at that. I believe they had Stephen A and Kornheiser do those exact things when they got suspended

And now ESPN is punishing/suspending Jamele Hill for some tweets about Trump. This channel is nothing like the fun place for sports when I was younger.

I hate to be that "stick to sports" person but a lot of us just want to watch ESPN to get away from the crazy shit that's going on in the world.

This feels manufactured. Like, they keep talking about it. This would go away if they just didn't talk about it. But now, it's a story and people are (sadly) interested in where it goes next and (SHOCKINGLY!) ESPN controls where it goes next and you have to watch them to know. This is what I can't stand. Greenberg isn't an athlete. LaVar Ball isn't an athlete. Steven A Smith, not an athlete. Stop wasting coverage on them and making their opinions "news." It's not.

I think for better or for worse, they're going to stick with the Greenberg show even if it tanks in the ratings. If it fails, it's not like he can go back to Mike and Mike b/c it would be clearly seen as demotion. So as much as having your own show is cool, there's nowhere to go but down. I'm just really shocked that out of all the talent they have there, it's Greenberg that gets the gig. He lives in Greenwich IIRC, and some of the pics he posts on social media screams "I have money" which isn't going to make you likable with the 'common fan.'

I think Greeny always thought of himself as more than the show he was on, which is why he's writing books and trying host game shows.
Like, if he started a band he'd be ESPN's Chris Jericho.

IN my opinion, stick a fork at SC6, it's done as Jenee Hill is suspended for 2 weeks for her latest tweets urging fans to boycott Cowboys sponsors. t.co/9poJzq62FF?amp=1

She didn't learn from Bill Simmons' and Curt Schilling's mistakes. Short of threatening statements, ESPN doesn't care about social causes you support or political stances. But threaten the NFL's pocketbook (and thus ESPN's bottom line), and they will bring their wrath down.

First of all, SC6 is a dumb idea. The beauty of SC (when it was good anyway) is that you could watch it at literally almost any time day or night. So trying to make one super special is silly. But also there's really nothing special about Smith and Hill. I've never found Hill (or Smith for that matter) particularly humorous, insightful, or interesting. SVP is, tho.
But for Hill, she's really being stupid. Like, I get being principled. But you're overrating the influence you have to think people are going to boycott things because you say so. Secondly, this type of going after sponsor relationships opens ESPN to the same type of attack from the other side, because they also have sponsors they value. And lastly, where is your career if you get canned at ESPN for making a daring and kinda silly recommendation to people? People fall off the map outside of the ESPN vacuum. And to jeopordize your career for something that silly and so quickly after the Trump stuff. People get really caught up in all this stuff, and get really argumentative and illogical. You can't risk your career and platform trying to take Jerruh down a notch when ESPN very clearly is in bed with him because he fans the flames on everything. Pick your battles, brah.

As for SC6, they'll either bring in a guest co-host with Michael Smith (who I'm sure is going to be told "Don't talk about the Hill suspension") or they'll have him do other things during the two weeks Hill is suspended while SC6 becomes generic SportsCenter again until Hill's suspension is over.

Well apparently he sat out yesterday when they announced her suspension but he comes back today I don't know if that was a silent protest or what but i'm guessing he's taking her side since that one of his people when her suspension is justified because she was warned once before I doubt Smith is in any hot water but he hasn't really been in trouble with ESPN since the situation with him and Hugh Douglas

Dan Le Batard had the same take on his show today and brought up when his own suspension happened along with Curt Schilling's suspensions and firing. He likes Jemele Hill and respects her and agrees with her opinions, but also understands ESPN's reasons for suspending her. Which ultimately was for insubordination in all three cases.
But then he also brought up that at times, ESPN's approach to social media is "making it up as we go along." Since ultimately, you don't want to make the company look bad. But in the age of social media, that is far more difficult to really determine when lines are getting crossed.
