Piggybacking off the other thread, who are guys you have seen that you believe squandered their talent and never fulfilled their potential. Tho he has fixed his career a long time ago Randy Orton almost threw his career away. Before dude got his shit together he could of easily been on his ass for his antics.
I'll go off the path a little with this one but a person that could be considered is Marty Jennety. The dude had a lot of talent and seemed like the most comfortable out of him and Shawn as far as in ring and promos. Eventually Shawn passed him and we all know the rest of the story.

William Regal. A* wrestler, talker, anything really, and his career is about as accomplished as Billy Gunn's.

Jack Swagger? He should've been the next Gary Albright/Scott Steiner but he's jobbing to Baron Corbin on Superstars instead.

I have to second Jannetty.
The dude had a look, he had talent, and most importantly, he had a white-hot angle to kickstart his very first singles run in a major company against a guy he should have been able to have 5 star matches with.
Instead, he partied. And now he's broke, posting bizarre things on Facebook that sound like a 3rd grade gangsta, and...still partying pathetically.

Probably some guy we never, EVER got to see or hear of because WCW paid him to sit on his ass for years and years just so nobody else could sign him.

Jeff Hardy?
Unfortunately he's spent most of his prime years languishing in TNA. What makes it even worse is that he seemed so close to becoming a huge star before he left to join Dixie Carter on board the wrestling Titanic.

William Regal. A* wrestler, talker, anything really, and his career is about as accomplished as Billy Gunn's. If we're doing things on a talent to achievement ratio he'd be up there. However he's still had quite the career with a fair few memorable moments and his biggest achievements are likely to come from his backstage role(s). On the other hand Swagger has created remarkably few memorable moments or classic matches given both his athletic prowess and the amount of opportunities/kayfabe accomplishments he's had, most of those he does have involve others (The Eagle, "We The People"). I think guys like Jannetty and Jeff squandered their talents but still achieved a fair bit, they'll be remembered, hell they already are in way as they're the sort of name that comes up from the casual lapsed fan from their respective eras.

I'm gonna go with Jannetty.
(at least of people we know... as opposed to really talented people stuck on the low level indys)

I'd say Tyson Kidd is up there. He's always been a consistently great worker, and before the unfortunate injury he was really starting to build up some momentum teaming with Cesaro. It almost seemed like he would finally turn his career around.

If you are just going with WWE stuff, I'd say Sting.
For wrestling overall? I'd have to say Marty as well. He could have become so much. Now he's a punchline.

Regal had everything to be a great heel and he proceeded to destroy his own career and kill the biggest push he ever had.

Jannetty's a good choice, because he's specifically remembered as a joke (the unsuccessful tag team loser guy!) which is worse than being forgotten.
Sean Waltman, maybe, for the same reasons?

Stevie Richards had the skills, the looks and the versatility to be far higher up the card than he was for most of his career but it never really panned out. I'll also vote for his running buddy, Raven, I know he had a great run as a midcarder in WCW and was a big deal in ECW, but had he not been so hell bent on being a wrestler and smoking weed, he'd be Vince's right hand man now.

Jeff Hardy? Unfortunately he's spent most of his prime years languishing in TNA. What makes it even worse is that he seemed so close to becoming a huge star before he left to join Dixie Carter on board the wrestling Titanic. being contracted to only TNA probably kept him from being fired very publicly for doing the Victory Road crap in WWE and then slumming it in Omega for the rest of his career

Going off the beaten path, Steve Bradley was supposed to be WWE's answer to RVD with many saying he was better (he was the guy who got Kurt Angle ready for TV) but because of his issues never made it out of developmental.
