First some background:
Many of you may know me from the various E-Fed games that used to be run here(or maybe some other games... ie Mafia/Name that Theme/etc). E-Fed'ing used to be a big part of my online life for the better part of 5 years. But eventually your ideas run out, you have burnout, or maybe life begins to catch up with you and you can't spend as much time as you need to succeed with your character(s). Several of us talked about this a few months back here if you are interested in the current stance of e-fedding here on F.A.N.

So what can we do? We've had several long standing e-fed fold(for various reasons), and the most recent efed attempt had all the same problems listed above. That being the time/effort to succeed was too much for people. So what if we tried something similar, but to succeed it wouldn't require as much time/effort?
My suggestion is a P-Fed / Prediction federation. But what is that? In a prediction fed, you still create a character(even if it is a complete copy of an actual wrestler) and you can promo with him as much or as little as you can and want. You can create your own storylines/feuds, or you can just allow yourself to get matched up each week and let your match do all the talking that needs to be done. But winning/losing will be based on a point tabulation when prediction who will perform well on WWE Television. Namely Raw, Smackdown and WWE PPVs.
Scoring categories include(but definitely not limited to) appearances, matches, wins, finishers executed, winning a title, etc.
Every week, everyone on the roster would have a match. How well you do in that match will be based on your predictions. Score better than your opponent(s), and you win your match. As you win matches, your overness will increase. As you approach the top of the overness charts, the better your chances of getting title shots becomes. The time needed to succeed? About 5 minutes each week to make your picks.
So there you have it. This would allow people to still get their creative juices flowing, but also create an environment where you don't need hours each week invested to succeed. You could never promo and still succeed.
Some questions you might have(will add more to this post as they come in):
Q/A
---
Q: @ SnS, scoring Raw/Smackdown every week(as well as the PPVs) every week sounds like a lot of work. Why should we feel confident that you'd be able to do that?
A: Cause its already being done. I joined another P-Fed on a different board over three years ago. I even referenced it here when someone copied that OP from that board and brought it here. Since that time, I've actually moved up and am running that same P-Fed. So I'm already part of the team that scores Raw/Smackdown/PPVs. The only extra work for me would be creating matchups, importing the scoring data and posting results.
Q: What benefit is there to promoing then?
A: Promo'ing adds a fun element to the game, but not required. To help promote people to promo(even just a little) I would give a promo bonus to anyone that promo'd and won a match in the same week.
Q: What kind of divisions are you considering?
A: Obviously a males singles division. But depending on participation, we can also do a women's division, tag team, and maybe some undercard division/titles as well. Just depends on you guys.
Q: How committed to this are you?
A: Anyone that knows me can tell you that if I commit to something, I'll follow through with it. That said, I have to know that there is enough interest(and commitment from others) before I can commit to it myself. Which is why I created this thread.
I'm adding a poll to this thread as a way to help tabulate interest. Anyone interested can just click yes. I'll leave it open til after the Battleground PPV. If enough interest is there before then, I will start putting things together before that time.
If you have any other questions let me know.
