They are becoming so over the top it's comical. Maria is supposed to be the "leader" of the KO division but they are making her so untouchable she's reaching Steph levels. To be quite frank she's starting to get grating. It's a simple thing of being overexposed but having her go out there cutting 10 min promos is doing her no favors. It's bad enough Mikey boy can't do it but now Maria is reaching that point of so over the top it's not even good.
Add on to the fact they seem to switch the meaning of miracle every week to fit the narrative and it just creates a mess. Mike Bennet is just an all around goober and him vs EC3 is just complete garbage now. For a dude they are trying to build up as championship material it's been piss poor. His shortcomings as a singles is pretty clear.
What is the end goal for these two. Dixie must loved them to bring them from ROH and she's giving them both the world. Do they enhance the show or do nothing for you?

that's why it's a miracle- it can be changed to whatever they need it to at any given moment. miraculously!
I wouldn't say maria is at steph levels though- gail's gotten her hands on her a few times already and maria hides behind her staff of knockouts- steph got slapped once by brie (and shoved in pudding once) in how many years since she's been back? plus maria is clearly building herself up for a fall (til the broken hand she was going to have a match with gail to have some physical comeuppance even if maria was probably going to win due to shenanigans to keep the storyline going) while steph is never going to fall off her lofty pedestal. I also get the feeling that maria is intentionally going into large ham territory with some of her gushing of late. you don't get that with steph.
they're one of the few parts I don't skip on the show. Bennett does seem better in tag teams than singles though

Speaking of which....this slap by Dixie Carter was the most anticlimactic & weak ending to a segment I've ever seen last Tuesday. Awful.

ROH actually thought he was going to be the next big star that WWE would sign from them.

Yeah they're both terrible right now. I said it during this week's show but, Maria sounds like she rehearsed her promos for weeks but still has to force the words out. Like she's trying to sound smart but she sounds incredibly nervous at the same time. No conviction behind her stuff at all.
And Bennett is just the most meh thing ever.

Bennett has pretty much sucked since I first saw him in 2010 at the Davis Arena. On the ROH tapings I went to the whole crowd thought he was lame, especially when guys went out there and beat the crap out of each other and this guy was having a prelim OVW style match. When I first saw him he reeked of an early 2000s WWE developmental wrestler, the kind of guy that had a decent look but was dull as dishwater in the ring and monotonous on the mic.
The sad thing is that TNA push is a potentially good character. Watching the pool segments you see Bennett chilling at the pool, Maria is hot as hell, he's got the shades on, etc. You would think this guy feels like a top heel. Then you hear him speak on the mic. And then you watch him wrestle. And then you see there's no "there" there.
I don't even understand this bizarre power struggle TNA is going for. What sort of power does Maria really have that can't be yanked away by Dixie or Corgan at a moment's notice? She's the "leader of the Knockouts." That is a meaningless title. If she's causing trouble and screwing people, get rid of her. I'm struggling to figure out what it isn't that simple.

There are so many problems with them, but I'll focus on only one. The fact that they continue to put them together in the ring and give promos together just magnifies how dull and bland Bennett is and exposes the fact that Maria is so much better than him. Even if you didn't now they came as a package, you could figure it out that Maria is the only reason he's in TNA. All it does it show how horrible is character is and it makes his feud with EC3 even worst.

The miracle is that companies keep pushing Mike Bennett.

What do you expect? Mike Bennett initially got over as a heel explicitly because he sucked compared to the other workers around him.

Only Jim Cornette, Maria, and now Dixie Carter & Billy Corgan see Bennett as a main event level superstar. All this is another case of TNA exposing a wrestler's flaw to everyone and ruining their value. Maria is good but not good enough to survive overexposure and making her vanilla ice cream of a husband interesting.

I wouldn't say She was at Steph level, Maria actually seems willing to let herself be embarrassed.

Maria seems to fancy herself as this great performer. When she was on that Afterbuzz show, she was full of herself and put down other women in the business. Truth is, the only times people cared about her was when she played cluelessly hot ditz in WWE, and when she started wearing those shorts in ROH.

The most interesting thing he's done in TNA so far is the pineapple shirt.
Let that set in.

Being a self parody of mid 2000s WWE CAW pushes will only get you so far.
Especially when you ride it for 5 years without improving.
And double especially when a lot of those guys you're supposed to be like (Orton and Rhodes to name some examples) improved leaps and bounds in 5 years and you're still the same "eh" ness.

Hell, I'd say that many of the "developmental clones" at their worst were better or more entertaining than Bennett. The only difference between any of them and Bennett is that Bennett gets "street cred" from having performed in RoH, where everyone gets decent time to showcase themselves. Meanwhile for the last few years, since the last few years of the first brand split, anyone in WWE who isn't a main eventer, an upper midcard/semi-main event guy, or in a tag team just counts the lights, and thus don't even get the reps in the ring to actually improve their craft and get better. Bennett has had many advantages afforded to him and still has not impressed.
