Did I just watch a Toad get a footjob, or am I hallucinating? He's supposed to be doing situps, and in the game that goes alongside it, he looks muscular and ripped after you succeed. Buff Toad only serves to makes this look even more suggestive, though. So... Toad Aniki, then.

Yeah, the Cuphead port is top notch. Hadn't played in a long time, so I didn't know they added the ability to pick Cuphead or Mugman at the start. Had to pick my boi

I don't see how the Switch's third party support is any better than the Wii U's. It's not getting the big games, like CoD, Madden, KHIII, and RDR2. I don't see how getting a bunch of last gen ports and indie games that nobody but hipsters care about means the Switch has better third party support.

Well, of those 4 the only one that would gel well with the Switch crowd would be KH3... and let's be honest there's a huge divide between gamers when it comes to KH. CoD, Madden and RDR2 aren't really "games that would be perfect on Switch" and those that would buy those games would do it on any other platform anyway. On the other hand, Switch is getting MK11, DOOM Eternal and Wolfenstein Youngblood. I don't think the Wii U ever got a MK and definitevely didn't get an id FPS during its tenure. It also has third party exclusives, either completely exclusive or console-wise exclusive (Octopath Traveler, Mario & Rabbids, Daemon X Machina, Astral Chain, MUA3, SMTV) that outshine what Wii U had (Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101 and Tokyo Mirage Sessions).

I don't know why Nintendo doesn't just make a powerful console. They need good third party support, they can't rely on their core fanbase forever.

Plus they have been good with third party, they dont need to have all the same games Ps4 has. Plus the Switch fanbase is hardly jut core.

I don't know why Nintendo doesn't just make a powerful console. They need good third party support, they can't rely on their core fanbase forever. Nintendo has a certain niche audience in the gaming universe that doesn’t care as much about power or frames or not being able to play big budget Triple A games. They have better third party support now than at any point since the days of the 64, but it’s not the end of the world if people can’t play Anthem on the Switch because Nintendo chose portability over raw power. And if they hadn’t, Switch would have just been yet another One and PS4 competitor with no chance of ever being more than the third wheel. Check out the Gamecube for when they last really tried to do that.

And for a lot of people Switch is becoming an ideal system for smaller indie titles that get overlooked on something like Steam or the PS4. I could have bought something like Cuphead months ago, but the appeal was having it on the go and easily played portably.

Really I only buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games anyway. You could probably count on one hand the amount of retail third party games I bought on the Wii U (and most of the other stuff is crap I got from Humble Bundle - I really pay zero mind to indies most of the time) and to this point there isn't a single full-price Switch game I own that wasn't from them.
Although that might change with Persona 5 Scramble. I dunno, I'm definitely getting it but I dunno if on PS4 or Switch.

Nintendo Games are for sure the main sellers. for the Wii U I think the only third party game I bought was Bayonetta 2 and even is as close as it gets to a third party being first party. For Switch I bought third party, but besides The World Ends With You and Disgaea 5 its all indie games - Persona Scramble may be added to the list and there still Bayonetta 3 in sight.

They also have been able to sell consoles and not have to do it at a loss, which is often not the case in modern times, where consoles can cost more to make than they sell for, with games or stuff like the online services being where the money's made. Nintendo has long had the philosophy of using tried and true hardware instead of trying to be bleeding edge, which in additions to costs, also helps them avoid problems like the PS2's legendarily bad disk reader it launched with, or the 360's red ring.
