If you really wanted just a strong system to peel off the best graphics you'd end up a PC gamer anyway. Nintendo is in a fine spot aiming for gameplay/accessibility over graphics, because graphics are a battle consoles literally can not win.

Saying "Nintendo should just make a powerful console" just says to me "Nintendo should be like everyone else and not stand out" which a) that wouldn't be that great for gaming as a whole and b) would probably wreck Nintendo because they would need to do a lot to even reach the same peak Sony and Microsoft are on now.

Yup,a common saying is that nintendo and x one compete against each other while Nintendo does it own thing.

Well if those rumors from a couple a months ago about Microsoft wanting to bring the Xbox Game Pass service to the Switch become true, then Nintendo doesn't have to worry about third party support making Switch Ports (Although there still will be some ports anyways.) because most of those titles will most likely already be there as a part of game pass.
I kind of want this to be true, because I hope it will lead to Microsoft helping Nintendo stabilize their online service.

I have kind of mixed opinions on Nintendo doing their own thing. I do feel like innovation and their amazing library of IPs are a huge part of what makes them work... but I also feel like a lot of times - like how dreadfully slow the Switch has been to introduce video apps, their continued refusal to do achievements despite it being an industry standard everywhere else at this point (not that I care about achivements anyway, but point of the matter), and their tendency at times to crowbar mechanics into games that aren't made for them to justify the hardware - they're just flat out being deliberately obtuse for the sake of it.

Does certainly look like an improvement on the first one but for the time being I'm still inclined to wait and get the game discounted at some point. The first Mario Maker wore out its welcome for me quickly and while all of the new toys look nice, I don't really think any of them are going to be able to fix the core problems with the game of the overly limiting level structure and a community more interested in making physics tests and mazes that deliberately waste your time than actual fun levels.

Ramps and angled auto scrolling might reduce the limiting level structure, both of which were seen in the original trailer.

Devil May Cry 1 getting a Switch port this summer. That’s nice. It’ll probably launch at $50, if the Resident Evil Switch ports are any indication

Aye, & the Wii U proved it doesn't work anyway. People seem to forget that PS3 & 360 were the current consoles when Wii U came out & thus for one year Nintendo was par with the other 2 & virtually nothing came of it. No one wants to buy a new console to play CoD or AC when they already own a console that plays them.

That's the point, Dante has SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS and the Project X Zone games. That said... Yeah, I could certainly live without Dante being added. Not really opposed to him but he probably wouldn't make my top five of Capcom characters to put in. Actually, let's see... Chun-Li, Phoenix Wright, Morrigan, Roll, Amaterasu... Nope, doesn't make it.
