The Michael Jackson Billy Jean Pepsi commercial. I mean it wasn't like it was some oldie from the 50s they had turned into a jingle.

Garfield's a thousand times worse than Peanuts. Especially when Jim Davis basically admits he puts in the bare amount of effort to make the comic and wants to make the most money possible. Basil Fawlty deserves a damn good thrashing for selling out to specsavers. Twelve episodes and done was part of the shows legacy but now that's been ruined worse than Tensai's gimmick. Damn that expensive divorce (John Cleese not Basil)! On a similar vain I hate seeing Top Cat and The Flintstones on an advert for whatever bank they're shilling but they've always been heavily commercialised. Aw, I liked the Top Cat one it was funny. (Flintstones one not so much) Context for non-uk readers

Yeah, and for someone who cared so much about kids, shooting a commercial which encourages them to drink something that is terrible for their health wasn't exactly a good move. But it backfired on MJ, literally, not that he deserved to have his scalp burned severely.

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro tarnishing their careers to a certain extent by agreeing to be in some unbelievably shitty movies over the last 15 years. The opposite of Robin Williams, who seemingly chose to be in movies with strong moral messages rather than ones that capitalized on his knack for verbal humor and impersonations?

Some time ago I had heard that Robin Williams was under interact with Disney, which was why for the longest time he only did family friendly movies. No idea if that's true.

You could argue that getting paid is still a staple of the gangsta and he's honoring that, but c'mon. You were in Are We There Yet, cornball. Shut up about the streets already. You likely can't even remember them anymore. I mean, what does he have to say really? "Yo, sometimes my pool boy is supposed to be there at 10:00 and he don't get around until about 10:12 and it frustrates me kinda." He's done. Accept it.

Can't maie his style of music anymore because he has been rich for.too long. Can't do kid movies, or he is a sellout. That is a pretty impossible standard to hold people to.

Not sure if sold out since he was already in a contract before that decision, but pretty super part of Ice-T died when he worked on the Gamer SVU episode.

That's why selling out is a dumb thing to obsess over is is there mainly for lulz imo. No one that picks up a guitar doesn't want a record deal. No one who gets an acting role doesn't want an Oscar.

Probably not the most egregious case of selling out, but one that has irked me. The use of "Butterfly" by Crazy Town in the movie Orange County. Basically it is used as the favorite song of vapid party/sorority girls. Which is probably a fair assessment. But it really doesn't do the band any favors. Sure, it gets them a check and maybe royalties for soundtrack purchases and whenever the movie is shown on basic cable (unless they got screwed over on publishing rights). Plus it gets you some decent exposure (an MTV Films production marketed to your strongest age demographic). But in the long run is it really best for the band to make your best known song to become synonymous with a group of people who tend to be fair weather music fans (or at least perceived that way)? It just seems like something that would just expedite your band's obsolescence.

I'm not entirely sure this would count yeah, she does country now, as in old-time folk-style country. I actually enjoy her pure pop stuff though
