Anderson is rather interesting because a ton of people thought he was going places... and then he went out and basically decided to squander all of his good will to even people that liked him originally wonder what the hell they saw in him Say asshole once draws a pop. Say asshole twice gets a polite applause. Saying asshole every other word and throwing pot shots at WWE gets you crickets. He's the epitome of how u do shit wrong despite giving every opportunity to showcase yourself. Not to mention sayng the WWE Squandered him when they set him up like 4 times for Massive angles that he basically blew by running his mouth or getting injured.

He f*** up MITB and the angle of being Vince son. That's two major angles once you f*** those up you're done.

Pretty sure he implied that the WWE wasted him in a few of his Pot shots at the WWE.
editL I do remember him complaining that the WWE told him not to openly chew gum when doing a promo... followed by him obnoxiously chewing gum... because we'll show them!

If Jim Cornette hypes you up as the next big thing, you are not going to reach that level. Morgan had the size, athleticism, and look to been a big star but never could brought it together. He was Sid Vicious minus the weird charisma and success rate. In TNA, no one knew how to book him. How he wrestled, he would had been a huge hit in Mexico like Marco Corleone aka Mark Jindrak. I think this encapsulates Matt Morgan perfectly. Had everything you would think a promoter would want in a guy but his quality of work seemingly never expanded beyond the basics that he was taught. He never figured out how to find that personal flair to make him stand out.

One problem Morgan had is that he never really found an in ring identity. Was he a 7 ft. power wrestler? An agile big man? He really never did much to clearly focus himself as a wrestler. Morgan would go down as a "coach killer" type wrestler, kind of a poor man's Lex Luger in terms of a guy that seemingly has all the tools, promoters and bookers froth at the mouth to sign him, but he just never had "it."

Indifferent to Morgan. Just came in here to say Jim Cornette sucks.

There have been guys that people like Jim Ross and Jim Cornette and Bret Hart have hyped up to be so amazing with "all the tools to be an all time great", but who I see complete jackshit in besides a completely adequate talent. Matt Morgan is one of those guys. Ken Anderson's another, but f*** that guy. Anderson is rather interesting because a ton of people thought he was going places... and then he went out and basically decided to squander all of his good will to even people that liked him originally wonder what the hell they saw in him I admit, ten years ago I was telling my classmates that he was a future champion and we all imitated him, but the guy never made the most of his opportunities. He actually regressed each year.

He had the size and look to be a star, but the company never got behind him and the booking hurt him (what else is new with TNA?). He wasn't great in the ring but they could have worked around that. They chose not to.

Morgan had the look, and for a man his size could do some impressive moves. That was it about him, he was look at me I'm 7 feet tall I can do a crossbody off the top rope. While that's fine it was never the guy who could put it all together and work a good match with what he can do. The above comparison to Sid is a good one. Sid had that character side of looking crazy or someone that is going to kill you stare. Morgan didn't have that. It was all about yeah he athletic but he wasn't a good overall wrestler.
Anderson I see we are talking about him too.The guy had the mic skills but what didn't help was he kept getting hurt in the WWE and he started really fast declining as a wrestler. TNA kept changing his face or heel role it seemed weekly. Went over board with the Asshole thing. Really if Anderson stayed as the Anderson he was when he first started in TNA and in his feud with Angle he been much better off. Angle at less got his best match out of him.

Matt Morgan had the goofiest booking ever, he kept getting built up to be a main eventer then he'd lose several key matches. Then repeat that 6 times.

Pretty much, for an agile big man he sure wrestled like every other lumbering oaf, just no excitement to any of his matches whatsoever.

There have been worse wrestlers, but nothing stood out about Morgan aside from him being tall and looking scary.
He was like Sid, only a marginally better worker and having nowhere as much charisma.

Bryan Alvarez said it best, that Matt was only booked as being tall in tna and that even at his late thirties they were still calling him a prospect...
I don't know why they got cute with him, I don't get why they didn't book him just killing people, like they did when Kane debuted, that he was beating up people in handicap matches. Just picture a guy like Petey Williams selling for Morgan and making him look like a killer.
