The talk around Morgan was that he has the tools to "make it big" in TNAs eyes but he was never able to cross that line and become world champ. It seemed like they gave him every opportunity to show them something but they never pulled the trigger on him. Tho I admit they didn't help him with all the heel and face turns like he was Kane.
If only he had 1/3 of Gail Kim invincibility booking

No. He stood zero chance at living up to the hype he was getting from "experts".
Plus he sucked and that didn't help matters.

He also did not do himself any favors, he admitted that during his wwe tenure, he became a bitter drug addict, he said it during his rf shoot. If he had his mind right back then, I can see him becoming a big draw. I guess the business brings out the worse on people and only the strong survive.

I don't have anything against Morgan, personally. But the few times TNA could've done something decent with him, questionable booking squandered that opportunity. Too bad.

I doubt Morgan would've ever lived up to all the hype, but he fell victim to the same horrible booking that felled so many others.

Oh god no. Not only was he completely squandered by TNA's shitty booking a million times over, but the guy sucked in the first place.

Cornette's talking up of Matt Morgan was what made me realize that his opinion just isn't worth as much as it used to be and that he may know what to complain about nowadays about WWE, but his solutions and ideas sure as hell aren't that great themselves.

Mike Knox is the big man who had a chance to shine post-WWE that TNA dropped the ball on.
Watch his match with Aries. Why wasn't he doing that his entire TNA run?

He wasn't trash, not at all. The failing was was he just didn't excel at anything, and had a very bland look.
His run as the solo Tag Team Champion was probably his highlight in TNA.

He had chances, but with a big guy you have to go all in or don't. They had too many start and stops with him. He could have been made with the main event mafia angle they were doing, but they had him get beat by sting. He could have been elevated by beating the Pope in that tournament in 2010 and become hulk Hogan's project in Immortal. He could have been Hulk's protégé during that angle where he offered to take out Aces and 8's in exchange for a number 1 contender spot, but the problem was that they kept making him lose. He lost to everyone in big spots. They put guys like Hernandez and crimson over him. He was big, athletic and could talk. He shouldn't have been losing to scrubs.

Morgan was a decent talent who suffered from being overblown and talked about at a level he was never going to reach and from spending the bulk of his career in TNA where they're prone to bringing out the worst in people. If he'd been in WWE that whole time, I doubt he'd have been anything great or hugely successful but he'd probably have a better reputation.

He was a big dude, which obviously has its benefits, but his head wasn't on right in WWE, and in TNA, he was booked as if he may as well have been 5'6.

If Jim Cornette hypes you up as the next big thing, you are not going to reach that level. Morgan had the size, athleticism, and look to been a big star but never could brought it together. He was Sid Vicious minus the weird charisma and success rate. In TNA, no one knew how to book him. How he wrestled, he would had been a huge hit in Mexico like Marco Corleone aka Mark Jindrak.

There have been guys that people like Jim Ross and Jim Cornette and Bret Hart have hyped up to be so amazing with "all the tools to be an all time great", but who I see complete jackshit in besides a completely adequate talent.
Matt Morgan is one of those guys. Ken Anderson's another, but f*** that guy.

Say asshole twice gets a polite applause. Saying asshole every other word and throwing pot shots at WWE gets you crickets. He's the epitome of how u do shit wrong despite giving every opportunity to showcase yourself.
