Forgot it is the highest grossing none Mania PPV of all time. Amazing, I think the angle started off really well all things considered, it just crumbled apart into one of the infamous wrecks of an angle of all time the more it went on.
Last time I watched the InVasion (on my Tagged Classics dvd set) it reminded me it was a really decent ppv. Yeah a few duds, but a really enjoyable main event involving tons of big names and one of my all time favorite matches in RVD vs Jeff Hardy

Might not have been the stellar card that we all envisioned for the first ever WWF vs WCW/ECW event, but it was a really fun event.
Scary that it was 15 years ago though.

Good PPV that led to an awful couple of months following it. Come on now...you have to admit some of those Raw's afterwards sucked. A lot of them did actually.

I remember this, after sitting and waiting impatiently all the way through the Monday night wars and the uncertainty of a post-WCW wrestling industry, I finally got to see my dream match: Kanyon, Shawn Stasiak and Hugh G Rection vs. Albert, Big Show and Mr Ass

Damn good PPV, aside from once again turning things into the Stone Cold show. Loved the dual ramps, too.

What a disheartening time to be a WCW fan. Not only did I have to endure the slow, silly death of my favorite wrestling promotion, but then when I actually had hope for the WWF-run version of it? They killed their plans for it two weeks into the storyline, turned the entire promotion heel, and pushed it in the background behind Stone Cold and the ECW guys they already had on the roster.
Had they played their cards right, the Invasion could have lasted until WrestleMania X8. Hell, it could have lasted until WrestleMania XX when you factor in elements that should have slowly been rolled out, like Bischoff, the nWo, and ECW.

Man, I couldn't believe Nick Patrick vs. Earl Hebner was THAT much of a draw.

I've always seen it as a one match show. Nothing else on the card came close to RVD vs. Jeff Hardy, which was outstanding.

RVD vs Jeff was easily the highlight for me.
I hated so much about the InVasion but don't even care to go into it.

Can't agree more. I was so bored during this thing, I was beginning to think I wouldn't make it to RVD/Jeff Hardy. Thank goodness I did.

I remember having a message on my answering machine. When I went to listen it was William Regal inviting us to order the Invasion PPV.

Fun fact: I went to my wrestling show, the week before this PPV and, exactly 15 years later, went to a house show

At WhatCulture on You Tube they did a Rebooking of the Invasion a few months ago. Overall pretty good.

And the buyrate makes it even more depressing. My friends and I were fans of both WCW and WWE. Up here in Canada we could watch Nitro and Raw on different days so we were able to follow both. We were shocked when we heard Nitro was ending (none of us had access to dirt sheets) and when we saw the final Nitro we thought 'oh my god, this is actually happening'. Then we saw where it went, some of our favourites treated like nothing, the entire WCW roster sucking up to Stone Cold because they needed him and other garbage. For a fan of wrestling in general I don't think I've ever been more depressed.

One of my personal favorite PPVs even though the fallout turned out to be one of the worst booked things ever.

One of my personal favorite PPVs even though the fallout turned out to be one of the worst booked things ever. As a pretty oblivious 12 year old, I'd echo this sentiment. It's only as the steady stream on TW contracts expired and we saw a steady stream of bigger name talent appear did I understand why folk were so down on the whole affair.
