So, I know the WWE is shaking things up with this brand split but there is another change that is happening to the product that is coming about in a more subtle way. Michael Cole said the name of a referee on the air at Battleground last night and tonight at the top of RAW actually said the words "professional wrestling" in reference to the WWE product.
Has anyone noticed any of this?

It was a nice surprise to hear professional wrestling on a broadcast, said by an announcer multiple times. Maybe Vince and Dunn aren't ashamed of their own product anymore.

Vince himself once said wrestling.
If Vince was so ashamed of wrestling he would just get rid of the ring and RAW would just be three hours of people coming out to the space where the ring would've been to monologue to the audience.

Yeah, this 'wrestling is a dirty word' thing has been greatly exaggerated around here.

Yeah, this 'wrestling is a dirty word' thing has been greatly exaggerated around here. Yeah, but they almost always use "sports entertainment" whenever they can. When Cole used "professional wrestling" during Bálor's entrance, it just really stuck out to me.

WWE uses the word 'wrestling' all the time. Yeah, I don't get where the idea that wrestling has been a dirty word in the WWE. They use it pretty constantly.

Michael Cole said the name of a referee on the air at Battleground last night Some refs (Chioda, Cone, Chad Patton) would get their names dropped. Battleground was the first time I'd heard them mention Rod Zapata.

It still looks like the same product to me. All they've done is window dressing. It won't really change until they get rid of Dunn, Cole, Lawler, JBL, Vince, Steph.
