He failed a drug test for a real sport at his other job. I don't think it's even legal to lose my job or get disciplined because I was drinking in the office at my other job.

I think they were in the right to fire Billy as he's supposed to set an example to the rookies, especially after the Bill DeMott debacle. Lesnar is in a position where he holds all the cards, the WWE can't drug test him or punish him in any way otherwise he'll just go home to Canada and raise his kids, which he'll probably do anyway once his contract is up.

Even I, a huge Brock mark, am wondering what that dude has over em that they just fold like an origami class when it comes to him by now. Lawyers that can actually beat Jerry McDevitt.

I don't see the general public caring, I think if there is any backlash it will come from the wrestlers first but not like they have a way to fight it. It is one thing for Rock to come in work 2 matches and not be subject to the policy but another for Brock to work so much more and not be. It there might be some blowback from fans and wrestling media but it won't go anywhere. Nah general public could care less. The boys in the back, sure. Everyone knows certain people get preferable treatment but when you throw it in their face like this i'm pretty sure they are going to be pissed. Everyone who'd really get ultra-worked-up over this is already gone (Wade, Cody) or is on their way out (Ryback).

Theoretically yes, in actuality I think it'll probably blow over fairly easily.

Numbers disagree with you pretty heavily. He has not had an impact on ratings or buy rates since just after he ended the Streak and isn't a huge merch mover by any stretch. The truth is, Vince has a big ol' boner for Brock because he has big muscles, and that's really about it.

In fairness, anyone who's moved the needle at all in the past few years is worth Vince keeping his hands on because for the longest time, nobody else has. If you find one guy who can be a draw in an era where nobody is a draw, even if he doesn't always draw I can see why Vince would keep him. edit: Also given how much acclaimed work he has in wrestling, you just throwing out 'lol Vince loves muscles' as a reason why he write those huge cheques for Brock is kinda ridiculous even if you don't personally like him as a talent.

What kind of example is that for the rookies to show that there are two sets of rules: one for stars and one for everyone else? I think that by just shrugging at this and going on with business as usual, it makes them look like a carny promotion - the very perception they hate. Things like this are a reason why a huge chunk of people still don't take the company or the McMahon's seriously. They're still the same old sketchy ass wrasslin company they've always been, just with a better coat of wax.

Are WWE legally obligated to punish Lesnar since after all, he didn't fail one of THEIR tests. I figure they might use that as an excuse to keep him around. WWE isn't legally obligated to punish Brock even if he failed a WWE test. WWE does drug testing by their own volition, not because the government told them they have to (which the government couldn't do even if they wanted to).
