I was just listening to Jericho's interview with Zayn. At about 35:15, Zayn talks about being upset that someone was called up to the main roster before him due to his shoulder injury. This happened sometime after Owens was called up, and the only guy I can think of who got promoted was Breeze.
Any thoughts to this?

He could mean Strowman who didn't work for NXT, but was there at the performance center for a couple years.

Was it his walk? Or just his stare?

I don't think it would have been Tyler. They seemed like good friends on Breaking Ground. I'd imagine it was more likely to be Braun Strowman.

Eh, everyone wants to be called up and seeing someone else get that spot mustn't feel great.

I am sure Bayley was feeling the same way during the draft. They did throw her a bone by putting her on Summerslam. It does seem though that WWE is more likely to call up midcarders in NXT than their top stars just to keep the brand intact.
What is odd to me though, is when they call up people lower on the card than others, like how Breeze was beneath Zayn and Bliss/Carmella/Nia Jax were beneath Bayley, is it makes it harder to call them up as their replacements in NXT are gone.
Although at the same time, I certainly rather be in Zayn's spot than Breeze's. I also have a feeling that Bayley will be booked much stronger than all three of those women when she arrives, minus possibly Jax who seems to be getting the monster push.

I like to think that Sami Zayn was watching Raw when the Divas Revolution started and with a tear in his eye he said to himself "That could have been me."

I always figured it was Braun Strowman he was talking about since Sami got hurt in May and Braun came up in August.

Eh, everyone wants to be called up and seeing someone else get that spot mustn't feel great. This is probably the right answer. Shoot, I felt bummed that I didn't get called up to Basic Training with everybody else who checked in the same time I did. Had a tooth pulled and they put me on a "3-day profile" so the wound would heal. Which pushed it past my call-up date. I had to stay in introduction another week. (Guys on profile in military talk = "broke dicks". Figured you'd enjoy that.)

I like to think that Sami Zayn was watching Raw when the Divas Revolution started and with a tear in his eye he said to himself "That could have been me." Sami: "Come on, Trips, I DESERVE a spot on the main roster! If Kevin can get one, I can too!" Triple H: "Sami, man, we'll get you there, but there isn't room for a guy like you on the roster right now." Sami: "I'll do anything! Jobber, tag team, whatever, please! Just get me a shot at the big time!" Triple H: "Well, there is this one thing......" ....... Cole: "Ohhhhh Mmmyyyyy! Sami Zayn joins Paige and Charlotte to form the Ska Sorority!" JBL: "HAHA MAGGLE I LOVE IT!"

I think there was a WWE Battleground episode about this very issue, it covered a length of time from the RAW match with Cena when he injured his shoulder (but finished the match) thru the long rehab process (fast-forwarded via documentary-style editing), to him finally getting back to his first match on NXT and before that having to watch/clap for Breeze when HHH congrats him super-randomly on getting called up.

You can be jealous and upset of someone you like. It doesn't mean you don't like them.
