Awesome night for promos in general. He, AJ, Dean, and Ziggler all completely brought their A game on that front.

AJ got steamrolled. Cena repeated a lot of stuff I've heard 100 times but he never fails to hit me hard with it. AJ was rambling about kids or something for way too long. I love you AJ, but that was all Cena's segment.

Cena was spitting like Biggie in 94, Hov in 96, insane man. I loved it.

I've heard other wrestlers do AJ's side of that 15 times.
And I've seen Cena respond about the same 15 times. He gets better at it each time though I'll give him that.

Eh.
He really didn't say anything new or interesting. He may have strung sentences together a little differently, but overall was it really all that different from the promos he cuts on nearly every "Real Wrestler vs Sports Entertainer" opponent he's ever faced? Or every "Why do you care for these people when half of them hate you?" opponent he's ever faced? Or every "Cocky newcomer wants to replace The Top Guy" opponent he's ever faced?
I feel like Cena needs to start feuding with people who have new motivations for wanting to fight him...

Thought AJ was better. The way he stepped up with the CENA SUCKS was excellent. He continues to wow me, probably because I didn't expect it at all. He can bring it , and this heel persona is great.
I'm kind of numb to Cena yelling about loving WWE, children, voices, the universe, speaking in an accent, and getting SRS when he's called out by heels. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was, it just doesn't have the same effect take 792.

I'll retread the same thing I said in the other thread:
Cena is great at delivering promos, but the content is either A) shit or B) the same old shit. This promo fell into the latter category (that Star Wars promo is an example of the former).
No one will remember this promo the next time Cena is in a feud with an "indy darling" and he has to talk about "yeah, my fanbase is kids and women but I love them because they love me! And I love WWE! I will never leave WWE! Hustle, Loyalty, Respect!" because then THAT will be considered the best promo in ages and so on and so on.
And fair play to Cena for it. Only the best talkers could get away with that, and Cena has unmatched charisma in current day WWE.

I loved everything about that exchange. AJ questioning Cena's relevancy promo that gradually turned into a jealousy fueled tantrum. Cena's usual "Do it for the kids stuff" was sold with such conviction it didn't matter to me that it was the hundredth time I've heard it. It was believably passionate and escalated the heat. AJ calling Cena's litte kid fans delusional idiots is some 86 Piper quality heeling.

It's the same shit he says everytime. "I Love this place, I love seeing the face of these kids!".

The same? Meh, I dunno about all that. Same theme? Possibly, I can concede that. But the difference? The person he's dueling with right now. Electric feud is electric.

Cena's delivery when he's serious is always top notch. But I didn't love the segment because it's the same well they've gone to several times before. Cena's promos are usually the same thing over and over.

Repetitive isn't a bad thing when it works and Cena made it f***ing work tonight.
