So this year's transfer dramarama kicks off. Either way it's gonna be super dramatic. As a United sympathiser (Schmeichel is 6 year old me's hero) I kinda hope they win, just for the popcornyness.
Also, will Conte stick about if this falls through.

Also, will Conte stick about if this falls through. Both Conte and Mourinho have been reported to be pissed off at the relative lack of transfer activity at their clubs, so somebody is going to be very disappointed. Personally, I expect Lukaku to join Chelsea, as it was evident last season he was angling for a return there. If he doesn't, I still don't see Conte leaving. There's no managerial vacancies at clubs on Chelsea's level, and no guarantee that any vacancies will open for some time, so he'd be better off staying put for now.

Everton accept United's improved offer of £75 million plus £15 million in add-ons, with Wayne Rooney also being part of the deal, either on a free transfer or a loan until his United contract expires.
Your move, Chelsea.

So Rooney is officially back in blue. Guessing that confirms Lukaku is heading to Old Trafford.
While I'm happy for Rooney that he can finish his career with the club he loves, In comparison to some of Everton's other signings, I don't know how much he adds. Hopefully this will remotivate him and he can find the form that made him so successful. And more to the point, that Koeman can find a role for him that brings the best out of him.

Whilst I'm not predicting them to win the league or anything, Everton have spent their money very wisely this summer and they're about to get £90million to off-set that spending. Rooney for nothing is a good addition, even if his best years may be behind him he's still a decent striker and will give them another option when needed.

I know I said it earlier but it bears repeating with the newest development: If I'm Everton, I try and either beat West Ham for a Giroud/Walcott swoop, I pay up for Chicarito, or I find a way to possibly do both. Rooney can't be the person you depend on all season up front.

Rooney can't be the person you depend on all season. Yup. As much as I like the Klaessen and Keane signings - Sigurdsson would be a nice addition, too - for Everton and I appreciate the Rooney return on a nostalgic and romantic level, where the hell are the goals supposed to come from? You're getting a shit ton of money for Lukaku, but he's walking out the door with 25 goals. You gotta make that up somewhere and neither Rooney nor your incumbent options can manage that. I think the spending can't be over yet.

Chicharito's release clause is just £13 million. With his proven goal scoring record in both England and in Europe I'm astounded that nobody's put a bid in for him yet.

Celtic have signed Olivier Ntcham from Man City for a reported fee of £4.5 million. Ntcham has been on loan to Serie A side Genoa for the past two seasons.

Leonardo Bonucci's manager is trying to work on a transfer away from Juve. The teams interested are Milan, Inter, Man City and Chelsea. Juve also thought they had Patrik Schick locked up but the deal may be falling through as Sampdoria may be refusing to do business with Juve due to business practices.

I didn't realize that Bonucci's son isn't well and that reportedly played into the transfer (so did a falling out with Allegri, supposedly) Nonetheless, that's gotta be one of the more shocking transfers in recent years. Milan has probably had the best offseason of any team in Europe - several quality buys without any egregious fees. It appears they're on their way to returning to prominence in Serie A.

Milan has probably had the best offseason of any team in Europe - several quality buys without any egregious fees. It appears they're on their way to returning to prominence in Serie A. There were many factors, but yes his kid and wife are the main reason he ended up at Milan. But also there was something that happened with Allegri that really pissed off Bonucci. Sounds like Bonucci and Allegri never got along, and the straw that broke the camel's back is some type of argument during HT of the champions league final (multiple stories have come out that tell it different ways, but the common theme is Dani Alves and Bonucci getting pissed at Dybala) Also yes Milan has had a great summer. Mirabelli and Fassone were seen as very questionable hires at the time (mostly because both were a part of a poorly ran Inter Milan), but both spent the last 6-7 months getting plan A through Z lined up for the transfer window when the Milan sale went through, they have also rebuilt Milan's scouting department. Long story short, while the old regime may not have had the money to invest (Which part of me things is BS as if there was a player Silvio or Galliani wanted they'd make it happen)I think they relied too much on players feeling it was an honor to be a MIlan player and not actually selling them on what the plan for Milan was.

USA eviscerated Nicaragua tonight.
That just leaves Mexico one more time before we prepare for Russia.

Neymar has reportedly agreed to join PSG after they triggered the £195 million release clause in his contract.
Could just be paper talk, but if it's not... absolute madness.

That's just an insane amount of money, actually insane in a sport full of it. Surely this financial approach to football can't sustain itself?

A week ago I'd have been appalled at Neymar going for £195m...but after seeing Kyle Walker go for £50m it doesn't seem as bad anymore

I heard 222 mil for Neymar elsewhere. Just an absurd amount of money either way.
