Not sure what will happen with Coutinho now. On the one hand, Barca can easily afford to up their bid (not like they couldn't before but now they'll have £200m burning a hole in their pocket) and Liverpool would definitely consider a £90m bid for a player they got for less than £10m. On the other hand, Neymar and Countinho are pretty good friends and would Coutinho want to leave his best buddy Firmino behind when their families are so close? Also, could he live with playing the third man behind Suarez and Messi rather than being the main man in a competitive side?

Here's the thing, if Neymar is worth £198 million, every other top class player's valuation just jumped by about 20% due to the nature of football transfers - bigger records lead to inflated prices. Liverpool could easily milk £100 million for Coutinho, Chelsea could likely sell Hazard for £125 million.

Guarantee that within a couple of years £100 million-plus transfer fees will be commonplace.

It's done. Barcelona have accepted PSG's offer and Neymar will be taking his talents to Paris.

Neymar going from Barcelona to PSG is absolutely mammoth in the grand scheme of football.
To be honest you can pinpoint this day as the beginning of a decline (that's arguably already started) for Barca. When you look at Real Madrid who are blending in their youth with their established stars so well that you don't even notice, and then look at Barca's usual team sheet you start to see problems.
The great players of yesteryear are retiring or their abilities are waning over time and Barca haven't adequately replaced them to fit their usual standard. Who was the last superstar signing Barca made that caused you to go "Wow, now THAT'S a signing!"? Luis Suarez most likely.
Dani Alves hasn't been properly replaced at RB with no disrespect to Sergi Roberto and as last season with Juventus proved it's clear Alves still has a lot left in the tank.
Iniesta's legs are starting to give way. Mascherano's body is already starting to break down on him. Neymar's away to PSG. Messi is superhuman but even his body will reach its limit.
I can honestly see Barcelona pulling an AC Milan as soon as Messi retires (and so long as he's still able to kick a ball he will always be able to bring them up to a certain level regardless of his teammates) and really hitting the skids for a good few years at least.

and NETHERLANDS go through to the european womens championships final defeating ENGLAND 3-0
so the final is NETHERLANDS v DENMARK on sunday
and decline started with that crap BOSMAN european ruling, not because of another multi million soccer transfer
and ABERDEEN get the runs in cyprus as they are whopped 2-0 by APOLLON LIMASSOL, 3-2 aggregate EVERTON though are through with a 1-0 victory (2-0 aggregate) over RUZOMBEROK

That's just a stupid amount of money to me. One year it took to pass the 200 million mark for transfers after the first 100 million deal.
It defies all logic. Call me a grumpy old man or whatever, no footballer is worth nearly a quarter of a billion Euros. None.

As a Milan fan I cannot see Barca having the fall we did as money will never be the issue. Barca are still producing solid players from their academy and they are still able to invest in the club, they just have to fully invest in moving away from Tiki Taka.
