I don't know about regular radio, but on Sirius, there's this guy with a New Yawk accent hawking some snoring cure. "Hey, dis is Jimmy from Zyppah.com...". No matter what station I go to, they play this guy like 20 times a day.
Then there was that Ricky Gervais TV commercial where he talked about Kansas and cell phone coverage that they played I swear in every commercial break.

I generally only watch Netflix and the WWE Network, so trying to watch the Olympics opening ceremony with my parents was just about unbearable.

I generally only watch Netflix and the WWE Network, so trying to watch the Olympics opening ceremony with my parents was just about unbearable. If you want to talk about overplayed during the Olympics, try looking at the 2012 Summer Olympics when the AT&T U-Verse commercial with the kids in the pool played all the time. I still can quote that entire ad. |

The PPI ad with the dick in the suit .
I assume he just came in for an afternoons work but has popped up in every adbreak ever since. I like to think it's ruined his life, everywhere he goes people must hate him like in that Simpsons episode with the monkey paw.

The Jacobs cracker ad with the bridesmaids singing Ride On Time was on during basically every break earlier this year over here. It slowed down for a while, but it's back on again now.

Commercials are one of the biggest reasons I don't miss cable and satellite. In fact, I don't think I could actually watch an episode of a show on TV anymore without losing my mind.

So, I sometimes get RAW through an American feed and given the absolutely insane number of ads therein, drawing from the same pool of seemingly 3 companies, I am fascinated as to what qualifies as overplayed to our American posters.
Like, it was interesting once because it's fascinating as to what demo profile they use to sell ad time on RAW, but after you realize it's essentially "fat muthaf**ka in debt", it gets really grating.

Trying to watch olympics on NBC, and I swear 8 times an hour I see that Melissa McCartney commercial of her singing on the Tonight Show.

Radio-wise, Alan Thicke on how to beat the IRS. On the upside, auto dealership ads still use the Starrcade '88 theme to this day!
If you're watching SNL, that damn Book of Mormons commercial that won't go away.
Oh, on WWE? The smoking is BAD creepy ads.

Couple recent ones:
That sprint commercial with that lady dancing. The lady is cute, but who would do those ridiculous dance moves because of a phone plan? Then they did a second commercial adding a man into the mix. It's silly.
The Burger King commercial with the two women saying "awesome" in the most ear-grating tone. It's so annoying! Please stop saying "awesome" that way?
