I remember this film getting mixed reactions around its release. With some saying it's the best in the trilogy while others saying it sucks and was boring.
4 years later how does this film rank among other superhero films. For me it's definally the weakest of the trilogy but I still love the hell out of it. I though Bane was a great villian and while his voice bothered some I didnt mind it. Made him more intimating IMO. Batmans intro and the sewer fight were among my favorite scenes in a superhero movie ever!
The time jump during banes takeover made things confusing though and one of the weakest parts of the movie. That and bruce Wayne's randomly showing up in gotham even though it's suppost to be heavily guarded
Opinion?

I didn't like it. Bane's voice was absurd and he was a piss poor follow up to Heath Ledger.

The great parts were really great. I thought Tom Hardy's take on Bane was pretty great. The bad parts were REALLY bad. {Spoiler}Bane just being a henchman, again. Talia Al Ghul's death scene was so bad it was like an outtake. "My name is Robin." Sulky recluse Bruce Wayne. The ENTIRE POLICE FORCE going into the sewers at one time. I wonder what the movie would have been if Heath Ledger had survived

I've liked it more each time I've watched it since the first time in theaters.
I'm going with well for me.

Harley Quinn should have been the villain. She could have been the wife the Joker mentioned in TDK. The one who had her face slashed by loan sharks.

Loved at the time, and still really like it. There are story problems, but the good far outweighs the bad. I like movie Bane even better than comic Bane

Bane sounded like a deliriously happy and drunk Sean Connery who inhaled way too much helium.
That being said, it was the best representation BY FAR of Bane outside of comics. He's supposed to be Bruce's closest physical and strategic rival, not a dope who only poses a threat because he's on venom.

The weakest of the Nolan Batman trilogy but still really good. I particularly love the scene where Batman appears for the first time in years and any scenes with Crane and his Kangaroo court. Unfortunately, it does the same thing that a lot of Batman films seemingly can't help themselves doing, in that there's just too many characters around and they get spread a little thin.

It reminded me of a Michael Bay film toward the end

It didn't hold up at the time either.

At the time..I was like "Eh, it's a good conclusion to the Nolan trilogy".
I feel like it has not held up well, however. The pacing is off. Tons of illogical things. Boring parts. Pales in comparison to TDK. Didnt like Alfreds arc. Talia.
Good stuff? Bane. Catwoman. I think JGL is the ideal actor to play Robin. Some scenes: Airplane, "So thats what that feels like", the fight with Bane.
Im someone who thinks TDK is the best film inspired by a comic book. And loved Nolans trilogy. But TDKR was Meh.
Still better than Forever/Batman and Robin.

It's funny, I got The Dark Knight Rises for Christmas in 2012 and I think I've only seen it once since then. There's some good stuff (Bane's okay, Catwoman, the Batwing, that football stadium scene), but the overall film is pretty bad. It feels like Nolan wanted to end the trilogy and kind of just threw stuff together to get it done. It's not nearly as bad as Man of Steel, but Rises is still a massive letdown compared to the other two films in the trilogy.
