Not necessarily billboard hits but songs that are popular enough to get radio play.
Eagles: I Can't Tell You Why-Timothy B Schmidt Squeeze: Tempted- Paul Carrack

Madness' 'One Step Beyond', vocals done by Chas Smash rather than Suggs. He also did 'Michael Caine', 'Madness Is All In The Mind' and 'Wings Of A Dove', but OSB's probably the biggest one he did.

Blur's Coffee and TV is sung by Graham Coxon rather than Damon Alborn.
and this one I guess is debatable, but Don't look back in Anger is sung by Noel rather than Liam Gallagher (Liam does most of the singing though Noel will do occasional songs)

R.E.M. - Superman U2 - Numb In forgot that Mike Mills sang Superman. Doesn't count here but he also started singing Don't Go Back to Rockville live since he wrote the song.

A LOT of Beatles songs fall under this umbrella, since George and Ringo sung their fair share of songs on lead vocals. A couple of Ringo songs were mentioned already, but I'll name "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" as a fantastic song with George on lead vocals.

A couple of Ringo songs were mentioned already, but I'll name "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" as a fantastic song with George on lead vocals. This was by design, apparently. They wanted everyone to have a song on every album, something that George might not have been completely on board with originally. This definitely helped them all with their singles careers, especially Ringo (he had a huge string of hits in the 70's, though being friends with some of the greatest songwriters of the day did not hurt in that regard).

When you think about it, every member of the Beatles had a pretty brilliant career after they broke up. Shame Lennon's life ended as young as it did.

I have heard Eminence Front a lot more lately. A Who song performed by Townshend.

Take That's most beloved song (Never Forget) featured Howard Donald on vocals rather then Gary Barlow.
