Said today during the Raw review
Probably the only instance where Meltzer's pauses and "I don't knows" actually made sense.

Transcribing Meltzer's stream of conscious rambling is one of my favorite things.

The guy's been hit in the head more times than Tom from Tom and Jerry. Not going say it's ok, just that one shouldn't be surprised if Mick has some problems with his brain, emotions, personality, etc.

Mick has always been like this though. He's close friends with Stacy, Melina, Trish and plenty of the others I presume. His kids are fans, Noelle probably grew up idolising them and Mick is a soft soul, I can see him getting along with women easier than the macho idiots that could exist in the male locker room.
It says more about Meltzer when he can't think a man can be friends with women without him being some seedy old creep.

I'm sorry, but unless Mick forces someone to make out with him on live TV for a "storyline" the way Vince has done, I refuse to see how Mick is the creep in the company.

There are no stories of Foley being creepy or inappropriate with female fans or wrestlers, he's just a sweet guy and it's irresponsible for someone like Meltzer to try and paint his interactions with them as anything other than being a fan of them as people and of their art.
Given how suggestible the internet fandom are, people are going to read things into every interaction he has with a diva and it's so easy for this crap to spin out of control and turn into an urban legend like those involving Savage.

Fans have been saying Mick's love for some women borders on obsessive/creepy for a long time, Meltz is far from the first person to say it. Personally, I don't think there is anything to it but it's not new.

I do seem to recall in one of his books he appeared to developed quite an obsession with Melina.

Who says there can't be more than one? Hell, just look at some people's reaction to Lawler. But even in Lawler's case when he makes weird comments towards women or "puppies", how much of that is him just playing a character? I mean, he seems to like younger women (which, as long as everything's legal, I don't think should matter), but I have trouble picturing Lawler as a legitimate creepy person.

I get what he means, as he said Creepy is too strong a word
But if you read his books by book 3 it was getting that way with his Melina obsession and the reasons he kept saying to justify it were really flimsy (haven't read it for a while but I'm almost sure he said Melina could be a main event talent and he was helping to build her)

What's this Melina talk I'm hearing about? Never read his books.

I do seem to recall in one of his books he appeared to developed quite an obsession with Melina. Yeah, Melina was the first person I remember him gushing over which also made it to tv ... I also vaguely remember something with Ashley Massaro. Again I don't believe there was anything creepy about it but he has been doing it forever.

On The Hardcore Diaries he comes across a little "obsessed" with Melina.

Meltzer is a f***ing dolt, So What Mick is not allowed to have women friends? Meltzer didn't just pull this out of thin air guys. This has been a stigma Foley has carried for years now (hence Daniel Bryan's dig a few weeks back on RAW). I don't know if you guys have read Mick's books, but that's where all this started for me. Creepy really is the only word that comes to mind when reading his chapters on Melina. Especially odd was how he would transition from a story about his wife and kids right into a story fawning over Melina and how they talk on the phone for hours and he's the only one who understands her. Of course Mick is allowed to have women friends, that's ridiculous, but he's very overboard with his praise and compliments for the women. Given what he's written in his books, these compliments come across as something a little more. I seriously doubt Mick has cheated on his wife with any of the female talent, but his infatuation with them is awkward and uncomfortable. Not that Meltzer needs defending or anything, but this is hardly breaking news and there are many who agree with him.
