RAW is live tonight from Baltimore (and its world famous staircase), where we're two weeks away from Clash of Champions, and one week away from the debut of the Cruiserweight Division. Sadly for WWE, they're not "weeks away" from Monday Night Football - that debuts tonight with a double header, so no wonder tonight's main event has already been announced.
Kevin Owens is currently scheduled to defend the WWE Universal Championship against Seth Rollins in Indianapolis on September 25th. However, Roman Reigns wants a shot at the title as well. Tonight on RAW, Reigns and Owens go one on one in a non-title match, and if The Big Dog wins, he'll be added to the Clash of Champions main event in a Triple Threat Match. If Owens wins, it stays one on one with Rollins. Although Reigns was as screwed by Triple H as Rollins was, you'd probably think Rollins wants it to remain one on one... and don't forget about Owens' best bud Chris Jericho, who Reigns speared last week. And will Triple H make another appearance?
When we left the Best of 7 Series (for a "title opportunity"), Sheamus took a commanding 3-0 lead over Cesaro, and had a chance to seal the series with a sweep in London on Wednesday. However, Cesaro was able to gain his first win of the series at the O2 Arena, and now finds himself down 3-1. Tonight is another must-win match for The Swiss Superman, as it's Match 5 tonight on RAW. It's win or go home for Cesaro, can he get his second win of the series tonight, or will Sheamus clinch it at the second time of asking?
At close of play last week, we were under the impression that Sasha Banks had secured herself a rematch for Charlotte's RAW Women's Championship, when she swerved what seemed like a retirement announcement into an attack on Dana Brooke. Since then, WWE told their online department to remove any mention of an agreed match between Charlotte and Sasha in Indy. The most likely reason why comes in the form of Bayley. Last week, The Doctor of Huganomics scored a non-title win over Charlotte, which surely grants her a title match, but Sasha still has her rematch clause. What will be the resolution tonight?
The New Day (not The Old Day) are set to defend their RAW Tag Team Titles once again against Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows at Clash of Champions. The Club, who no doubt are super happy for the new WWE World Champion AJ Styles, are on a mission to retire Big E, Kofi and Xavier as the champions, but The New Day must be fed up with their fun and games right now. Will the "Booty-O's" salesmen get serious?
Whilst Rusev is off on his honeymoon with Lana, and the less said about the Darren Young/Titus O'Neil feud the better, the re-emergence of Bo Dallas has come up as a talking point. He's seemingly shrugged off what's left of the Social Outcasts (especially with Heath Slater now one-half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions), and is now telling fans to "Bolieve in Bo". Will he gain any followers in his quest? Also, the two dominant monsters have found more well known opponents, with Braun Strowman now confronted by Sin Cara, and Nia Jax getting into a situation with Alicia Fox. Will those issues develop tonight, or will they be killed dead, like RAW's ratings are likely to be?
All this and more, if you've not got the football on, tonight from 8/7c on USA!
