I think we've established TNA wasn't going to "spread the money around" they got from lowballing AJ, because it's not like they've been paying people in the time since then anyway. And even if it was absolutely necessary AJ get paid less for the good of the rest of the roster, why in the f*** should AJ have taken that deal? When he knew he could make more on the indies, and he did, why on earth would he agree to get paid less than he was worth to a company he had carried on his back for years and constantly been underappreciated for, just so other people who aren't as good as he is could get paid? Cause AJ had been a good soldier and they expected him to follow the line like he did countless times before

Dixie thought she had a dog she could kick, because she'd done it too many times before, and this time, the time he left, he becomes "a pain in the ass".

Remember when John Gaburick tried to lowball him on a new contract because he didn't think he'd succeed anywhere else? Good job with that one, bruh. I don't think that's why they offered him a lower contract. Either they give AJ that fatter contract he wanted and no one else gets paid (which might lead to a AJ getting heat with the boys) or AJ signed for a lower salary and whatever money they saved goes to everyone else.HAHAHHAHAHA. Like if Dixie would do what's best for the locker room, she probably spend the money on getting MVP and we all know how good that turned out.

I remember people being hyped for this interview. Then it came out and it was the just the softest of softball... "why are you so great?!" style questions. The Austin podcast with her was also kinda soft, but Dixie pissed him off when she called Austin's ranch compared to her or something.

Wasn't just any dog, either, AJ was their flagship talent, the guy that you first thought of when you think of TNA, he was even known as Mr. TNA. Like mentioned earlier, this was like if the WWE had decided to low-ball one of their top guys like Cena or Ambrose. Also, remember that TNA is the same company that tried to sabotage AJ's chances at getting signed by saying that they were still in negotiations with him days before his debut at the Rumble, something that they could have said a month prior and they chose to choose that time. After all that he did for them and they were so petty that they would try to screw him over like that. www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/the-latest-on-aj-styles-tna-wwe-royal-rumble-2/

Austin got along well with her it was just a bit stiff as they didn't record it at his location as he usually does, they did it in the podcastone studio instead of his house in Cali. Also that podcast was more of a bio piece than anything else. I'd recommend that one if anyone wants Dixie's version of her history. Austin tried a few times to give her hardball questions but she played stupid, like this exchange: 36:20 in she says they had to take a step back to take a step forward. Austin says ok let's talk about that, your move from Spike to DA. She responds with "What's that?...no, I mean our talent." Then she goes on about losing Hogan, Flair, and Sting (losing those 3 is the step back) to start investing in the future, young guys the fans don't know. For a reminder this was just after losing Spike, and she's acting like that didn't matter.

I'm not even sure what she's tyring to say with that "pain in the ass" rant considering the people she's let trample all over her, but my read on the JR thing is that he is definitely trying to backhandedly talk shit about her in a very Southern sort of way. Unfortunate that that's most edge that podcast had and it wasn't even really apparent until you look back on it.

That's common sense.

It's funny, I havn't listened to JR in a while but at this stage I was listening every week, Dixie's was the first one I skipped. Either the week after or before I remember JR talking about it and all he said about her was that "she is a very nice lady." Had a feeling there was going to be nothing to the interview since he wasn't just going to attack her for running a promotion so shittily (shittily?) like we all knew/know she did or she wouldn't have done the interview. Compared to episodes with the likes of Stan Hansen where I knew there'd be interesting stories and histroy, it was obvious that there was going to be nothing but frustration in listening to Dixie.

Just coming into his own, MVP. Though the latest I've seen of him was the segment with Stevie Ray and Booker T after the Punk's UFC debut. Thought Booker carried that segment and Stevie Ray kept it together, but definitely some flashes of brilliance from the young up and comer there as well.

The whole thing and U know it. If you dont give the face that runs the place that paper who the hell are u going to give it too TNA's financial issues became apparent around the time of AJ's departure. If Janice wasn't hitting the Budget Cutter Outta Nowhere, AJ, Joe and all the others would have "that paper" and would still be there. They didn't do this because they wanted to. They did this because they felt they had no choice. They sure as hell didn't have a problem signing MVP and Lashley right after AJ left or bring in all those ECW guys or do this day kept the Hardys around or sign Drew Gallaway. Even with the talks of being unsure on paying bills to have an impact, they still kept signng people.

Just thought that based on incentives, network subscriptions, bonuses, merch royalties, match royalties, AJ can make more money than all the tna roster combined.

Forget "they needed him to make sacrifices", I think TNA just straight-up didn't think AJ was worth the money to keep around. If he was, then he wouldn't have been "coming into his own", they would already know he was their franchise player. You think they asked Angle or Hardy to take f***ing pay cuts? You think Dixie ever went to Hogan when the ratings were flagging and said "I'm really sorry, but times are tough, could we maybe pay you a few hundred thousand less than the two million you're getting for no visible gain, just so we can pay other people?" No. Why? Because Hogan would have laughed in Dixie's face. TNA had in its head a worth for AJ Styles, and it was way off the mark. He didn't leave that company a big star. New Japan wasn't chomping at the bit to book former TNA world champion AJ Styles. They wanted Contender For Best Wrestler in the World AJ Styles. All TNA gave him was a stage to prove he was a top guy, and he earned whatever the dollar amount he wanted from TNA was just the same way he earned every dime he got paid in Japan and however much money WWE is now giving him, which considering he went into this saying he'd go for whoever paid him most so he could look out for his family, isn't chump change.
Also, TNA's in even shittier financial straits now and got bounced off two channels since he left, and suddenly they had enough money to make him a competitive offer, and to bring in Anderson and Gallows with him? if you still think it had anything to do with budget issues then you should really think about hiring Hulk Hogan to give your wrestling company that extra push it needs to get to the top.
