It still turns down to Spider-man literally sells his marriage to the devil. That's a terrible basis for a story. Oh, I agree it was kind of a bad way to go back to the status quo before Peter and Mary Jane got married, but the event itself was well done. Besides, being a reader of the current stuff, you should know by now that nothing really means anything in most of today's comics. Stuff happens to just get potential reader attention, and then is just undone a few years later with no worry about how much more it's messing up continuity. That's why I don't get too worked up about it....it's also why I don't read too much of the current stuff. And, again, it's not like Peter and MJ have stopped being married the entire time. Even when OMD was initiated, you had it going on in the MC2 universe until 2010, and outside of one story where they were pretty much making fun of the current direction, the newspaper strip has kept them married for an uninterupted thirty year stretch. Combine that with the recent Renew Your Vows ongoing and the couple being actively promoted in the Unlimited runner game and the post-OMD stuff looks increasingly irrelevant and outgunned

I will say, on a lighter note, that I recently read the first three issues of Mark Waid's Avengers limited (.1) series, which focuses on stories between the stories during the period where the team was Cap, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch (the 2nd major incarnation of the team). It's pretty damn fun, and I don't think has ties to anything going on in the current series, which I particularly enjoyed. I didn't feel cheated at all paying $3.99 an issue for them, which is saying something, as that's what keeps me from getting into most of the current stuff.

Its funny that the All New X Men tie in to Monsters Unleashed didn't really add much to the story while Uncanny Inhumans added some details to it

CBR's list of which superheroes should never have been Avengers www.cbr.com/15-heroes-who-never-should-have-been-avengers/{Spoiler}I'm begining to think CBR either is'nt under Marvel's thumb anymore, or something else is going on and it's a big indicator that when Marvel do their back-to-basics approach later this year, Spidey may finally severe ties with the group. I mean, outside of that USM cartoon and the mainline book, he actually is'nt an Avenger in other mediums. He's still a freelancer in the newspaper strip and in Renew Your Vows

I'd also say Black Widow on that list. Spidey I never had a problem with as an Avenger... though he works better as the reserve member than on the main team.

Not a very good in most respects (it doesn't help that some of the writer's information is just completely wrong - Ares didn't come into the Avengers picture until after Civil War). Funny how he mentions Ex Nihilo and Abyss in someone else's entry, but the two themselves are nowhere to be found.
Also, Red f'ing Hulk.
And I'm getting really tired of the "Fantastic Four aren't superheroes, they're explorers" crap. They're as reactionary as anyone else. Hell, their very first issue had them reacting to whole military bases disappearing. They weren't exploring shit. Or the Skrulls in the next issue or the Miracle Man in the third or...
Sigh.
Really surprised the old standby Gilgamesh isn't on the list.
Hey, how about Moondragon, who mind-controlled them forcing them to make her a member, and they kept her on the roster ever since? Or Namor, who declares war on humans every other Thursday?
HOW ABOUT ALL THE UNDERAGE KIDS??? Stature, Amadeus Cho, Rage, etc.

I've always found that angle on the FF baffling. They were exploring when they got their powers sure, but once you wear a costume and use said powers to protect people from evil and disasters, you're a superhero.

The new CBR sure love them listicles. They're practically turning into Newsarama at this point.

No talk about them including THE f***ING HULK!! see, Hulk I can actually understand the argument for because there's a damn good reason he was out of the team for over 40 years. but even so he shouldn't be higher on the list than f***ing Sentry. also, I liked Ares and killing him off was a colossal waste of one of the only interesting additions Bendis made to the team.

so he's going to be Tony Stark in one book and more old fashioned New York crime Fightin' Spidey in the other... that's kinda bizarre for the same Continuity.

I'll pick up the first issue and put a pre-order on it once a trade is announced, since 'Kirby character + Mike Allred art' is difficult to resist, but Animal Man makes more sense as a YA title than Forager. It's not like DC is rushing to publish Animal Man: Rebirth.
