Anyone listening tithe Cartoonist Kayfabe podcast? It has Ed Piskor and another guy as hosts. Each week they go thru an issue of Wizard magazine. Really good podcast. Just wish they would cover The Comics Journal more.

Always interested in new shows.

I've gone part time with BATMAN, so apparently I missed (spoiler space in case others aren't fully following the book) {Spoiler}{Spoiler}The Batman of Earth 2 - Thomas Wayne - showing up.
He was very much killed in Convergence, IIRC. Have they mustered up any explanation of how this has happened?

Early morning Twitter scanning showed......a lot of groaning and eye rolling about today's HEROES IN CRISIS. From what I've seen from those spoiling things.......it sounds like they have good reason. EDIT: Let's add this..... several people are tempering their anger at this book by literally saying "at least no one was raped." Strap in for the ride, kids.

As much as it pains me to say it but I think I'm done with DC for the foreseeable future. New 52 was bad, no getting around it, but this is down right horrible. It's weird to think I was more ok with Wally being erased from existence than the heinous crimes Tom King has had him do. Rebirth had me filled me with hope that things were swinging around to the better but then Heroes in Crisis happened. So damn done. Thankfully Boom's Buffy and Power Rangers and Marvel's Avengers, GotG, and Uncanny X-Men entertain me or I'd be out of comics for the first time since pre teen age.

I’m actually pretty okay with the Wally reveal, at least for now. It made perfect sense given his story arc since Rebirth, dude’s entire life and existence was erased. It’s natural to wonder what everyone else could’ve gone through that could be anywhere nears as bad as literally the entire universe erasing your life and only you and a couple people are even aware of it. He essentially had a speed force panic attack after, there was no intent.
But, we’ll see how Issue 9 plays out to wrap things up. It’s gonna be make or break. Very easy to f*** this up, but I trust King.

I very rarely give up on a limited series once I've started it, but the new League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is tempting me and there's only one issue to go. I've picked up and put down #5 twice now.

I think I gave up on LoEG with that 3rd series (or whichever volume was the 1st one after they moved from DC/Wildstorm), so you long outlasted me, kudos.

On the one hand, I know that the Secret Six name predates the Gail Simone series. On the other hand, Secret Six was, and is, a damn good series (both the original and what little we got of the New 52 version) that never seemed to get enough hype from DC to actually get the attention it deserves, and now that the Secret Six has actually developed a somewhat cult following over the years, they're gonna re-use the name to hype up the two heroes who don't need it. It reminds me of when Marvel removed Guardian and Vindicator from Alpha Flight, and then just put the rest of the team in space to be Captain Marvel's sidekicks.

Yeah, it's just another book tying into / spinning off of this Dark Multiverse.......stuff. Snyder's ideas seem grandiose and impressive, but they really wear off on you (or me, at least) after a while. Re-read Metal a few weeks ago (original read was good) and wow, I just don't want to read that ever again. S6 was a great mainstream-ish revision of an old concept which had no real strong fanbase over the years; it was originally handled very well and then evolved into something different and even special. Alpha Flight, at least, had a specific reason for existing, and did for an awful long time, and had a fanbase (which I'm sure wavered since there wasn't always an ongoing for it).......and now a bunch of them are in space and (still?) hanging around with Carol Danvers.

I gave up on League after reading the first TPB. O'neil's art was decent. But didn't care for Moore's story. One of the few Moore comics I didn't like.

I've started reading comics again, the Amazing Spider-Man series. Up to issue 8 at the moment. Fun series, the issue with the Spidey quiz in the villain bar was excellent.
Any other suggestions for series worth checking? Preferably not too old, 1 or 2 years, so theres not a big backlog to get through.

The Immortal Hulk by Al Ewing and Joe Bennett. Spider-Man: Life Story by Chip Zdarsky and Mark Bagley. Non-superhero stuff: 4 Kids Walk into a Bank by Matthew Rosenberg and Tyler Boss. Friendly Neighborhood is a good Spider-Man one only like 6 issues in.
