I think Tom King may be my favorite Batman writer ever. Just loving his run so much.

He bailed while still working on a trilogy of Thanos/Warlock projects with Alan Davis. That seemed very bizarre, so I wonder if either Starlin was convinced it was a bad idea to bail or if Marvel (who's riding the Infinity War related wave) REALLY capitulated to whatever his demands would've been to return.

Neither, he said at the time he would finish this book at least, and I thought he said the whole second trilogy and then he would be done. Given that Cates' future Thanos story has been, imo, god awful and full of miss-steps, plot holes and huge plot armour (even bigger than Starlin usually gives Thanos), I'd say Starlin can tell his story and it not matter. However, I get his point that Marvel editors should have caught these story similarities and axed or changed one of them much earlier, not pushed out both without warning.

I love all of the references in this picture. like Tsum 41, both Sum 41 and Tsum Tsums, the Einstein poster with Reed Richards instead of Einstein, the Blade Trinity Poster, and of course Leopardon from Japanese Spider-man on his desk

IDW has landed a long requested reprint project: they'll be republishing Mike Mignola's DRACULA movie adaptation (written by Roy Thomas) that was originally published by Topps Comics back in 1992. www.newsarama.com/39235-thomas-mignola-s-bram-stoker-s-dracula-gets-reprint.html(Nice sidenote: Mignola's apparently not a fan of older work of his, but he sounds legit happy that this is coming back into print. Also, this was his last project before he created Hellboy, which has pretty much been his workload ever since.)

But unless something has changed in the past few years it was easy to find in the cheap bins. Kinda surprised no one has reprinted the Kirby Secret City Saga stuff that Topps published.

I've always assumed Topps Comics' complete collapse in the end (they'd just started Victory, a big Kirbyverse crossover event, when they just shut the place down) meant there's some legal issues for reprinting certain things. But then again, IDW reprinted all those Mars Attacks! comics when they did their own MA! books a couple years ago. Sadly, I'd think the chances of seeing old Secret City Saga TPBs suffers from.....no real audience to justify getting all that stuff cleared for reprinting. Dynamite did some stuff with them a few years ago but it involved no reprint collections.

Yea, while there are die-hard Kirby collectors, seems there is enough supply of the Topps stuff to go around.

Yeah, if there's something that I see often in the cheap bins, it's the Secret Saga City related stuff. And some of that - like Satan's Six, with artwork that belongs in the '90s - really doesn't hold up.

So after this week's Hal Jordan and the Green Lanterns does anyone else wish the Guardians had stayed dead and buried?

So after this week's Hal Jordan and the Green Lanterns does anyone else wish the Guardians had stayed dead and buried? yeah I kinda do. after they were so thoroughly deconstructed in Geoff Johns' run it's damn near impossible to think of them as anything other than villains. and I kinda think the book's grown beyond the need for them. but this is comic books so eventually some writer is inevitably going to come around going "well thhis isn't how it was when I was a kid..." or whatever excuse they use.

Having Stewart call the shots was perfect imo. Plus the excuse they gave to not pursue the threat this last issue made zero sense and is only going to bite them in the ass... Like usual.
