Regarding those Spider-Man spoilers: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Boomerang didn't wear a face mask for the first 40+ years of his appearances and fought Spider-Man several dozen times through those years. He also has a very distinct and recognizable Australian accent, unless that's been retconned. And Peter has this whole spider-sense thing. So how does...
You know what, forget it. I don't care. Well, at least they didn't have.... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} him fight the Hulk again.

So that will be a thing, I guess. I don't really get the appeal of the Injustice thing. It's just Kingdom Come + Crime Syndicate of America, with a small heaping of Superboy-Prime tossed in. But still, nice to see MOTU getting more crossover love. Maybe one day they can do something that ties together Orko and even the Great Gazoo from Flinstones in with Mxyzptlk, Bat-Mite and that whole 5th Dimension thing Morrison had started tying together.

You know what, forget it. I don't care. Well, at least they didn't have.... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} him fight the Hulk again. Back in the Silver age after the Hulk's solo title got cancelled and he was revived in Tales to Astonish, one of the earliest issue of TOA with Hulk had him facing Boomerang. I got to read it thanks to those paperback book sized reprints of various Marvel comics. I had 2 volumes of the Hulk. The first reprinted,in color YAY,the entirety of the first volume of The Hulk comic. The second book reprinted the first 9 or so appearances of the Hulk in Tales to Astonish. Even as a kid I thought it was kinda dumb to have someone armed with Boomerangs fighting the Hulk. But something about Boomerang caught my attention. Only got 2 comics read between Sunday and Monday. Most days I try to get at least 4 or 5 read. Up first ,and read last night while I sat on my back porch enjoying the nice cool weather, was From October 2000 and printed by Gemstone,War Against Crime! issue 7 reprints the classic EC war comic War Against Crime. The first of 4 stories has Johnny Craig art. The second story has art by H.C Kiefer. I don't know the name so I am assuming he didnt do any work for EC's horror/sci fi/fantasy titles. The third story is a text piece called Cross or Double Cross. It is two pages long and pretty decent. Back during this era most comics had a 2 to 3 page text story. That way the comic qualified for a cheaper postal rate. The final story,The Craig Gang, has gorgeous Al Feldstein art. While not the best known of the EC horror artist,Al had a great style and it really shows in this story. I enjoy the 3 or so pages of letters. Plus the various ads for other EC stuff Gemstone was reprinting at the time. Then today before I had a relative come over. I read War Against Crime ! issue 10 is another reprint from Gemstone. It came out in January of 2001 and is the next to last issue of this series of crime comic reprints. I am guessing these titles didn't sell well. I never saw them in comic shops when they were coming out. And I got these 2 plus another issue out of the cheap bins at a con a few years back. This issue has 6 stories. 2 of which are text only. The first story is a Vault of Horror story titled Buried Alive. Hosted by the Vault Keeper,Drawn very creepy looking thanks to Al Feldstein.Al also writes this 8 page story about prematurre burial. The Man Death Wanted is the second story.John Alton handled the art and the writer is unknown. Whoever wrote it claims it is a true story from Police Files. And is a decent 7 page yarn. Up 3rd is the first of two text only stories. This one is only one page and titled Methods of the Master. The writer is unknown and it is crap. Our 4th story is the 6 pager Perfect Murder.Again the writer is unknown but Fred Peters,I need to track down more of his work, does the very stylized art.It looks more like something you would read in a 80s or 90s French crime comic. Not something from the late 40s in the USA. 5th story is another one page text story. It is crap,Face to Face is the title and the writer is unknown. The fifth and final story is The Idol's Revenge. Which is a 7 pager with Beautiful Johnny Craig art and an unknown creator handling the writing. I kinda find it a shame that while most comic fans know about the great horror comics from EC,and yes I know this is cause of the TV show, cartoon, movies and cause Tales from the Crypt,Vault of Horror and Haunt of Fear have had piles of reprints, the just as good crime and suspense comics from EC seem to be forgotten. Like how their war and comedy titles not named Mad are kinda forgotten. TLDR-If you find reprints of anything from EC and they are cheap give them a shot.

I also don't get Injustice's appeal. It is just telling a story that has been told many times before, and better most of the time. But this time using all the big name DC Heroes. I might catch flack for this...but He-man for me doesn't hold up that well. As a kid I loved the cartoon, toys and even the few comics we got. I hadn't seen the cartoon since the mid 80s until I discovered the old X-entertainment site. Matt would upload full episodes of Masters of the Universe. And I would spend sometimes 3 hours downloading them on a dial up connection. Watched a few and the constant reuse of animation and the shoehorned in moral lessons made me hate the show. Normally I don't mind Filmations habit of reusing animation. But it feels like in Masters of the Universe they did it way way too much. But I also know He-Man has a huge fanbase. So I am happy to see that fanbase is getting some new material with a franchise they enjoy. I do wish it was Blackstarr crossing over instead of He-man. Since the Filmation He-man is pretty much a rehashing of Blackstarr.

The first year or two of the INJUSTICE comic, written by Tom Taylor, was quite amazing. They laid the groundwork for how Superman could become an unhinged conqueror of the world.....frighteningly well, and I thought Taylor handled the shock and awe moments perfectly. I really need to reread that stuff. The book since has faltered (Taylor left for Marvel, his replacement was fine and steered the ship well but the really impactful work had been done). And Taylor's come back with INJUSTICE 2, which is a bit different but still very good. The draw here, though, is Tim Seeley, who is an unabashed He-Man fan; he and his brother wrote/edited The Art of MOTU for Dark Horse a few years ago. Curious to see how he handles the Injustice gang (heh) but the highlight for this fan of his other work is seeing him FINALLY getting to write Masters of the Universe.

After having a bunch of people praise it I read the first year of Injustice. By the 4th issue I wanted to quit, mostly cause I had read this story before many times, but I forced myself to finish the first year. For me it is a tired rehash of stuff that I had read before. A dash of Squadron Supreme,A bit of Moore's run on Marvelman, a tiny bit of Veitch's Maximortal, some of Waid's Irredeemable and so on. I get that to people that haven't read those series and/or are huge D.C. fans Injustice is a hit. For me it is like eating the same leftovers for the 5th night in a row.

I'm looking for recommended comics that had a limited release, say 8 issues or less. (Thanos Rising was awesome) Especially something that can make me interested in a larger universe. I've never tried Captain Marvel or Daredevil for example.

Read Infinity Countdown this week.
Jim Starlin wrote a great Adam Warlock. Abnett & Lanning wrote a quality Adam Warlock.
Gerry Duggan writes a really crummy Adam Warlock.

So what happen to SE Cap the last I remember the other cap had a talk with him Deadpool broke in and yelled at him once. I'm pretty sure he's going to be quietly swept under the rug and just hope everyone forgets about him. I’ve been on the Hydra Cap will be New Skull Train for a while now. It’s just a matter of time. ..and still stupid as all hell.

Did anyone check out the new Avengers title that came out this week? After finishing Hickman's lead up to Secret War and the event itself I was tempted to get back into Marvel again after a bit of a lay off. Curious if the new title is worth my time.

Was considering it, but my last two attempts to get back into Marvel (CW II and Secret Empire) burned up so much f***ing good will I just don’t feel like giving them another shot right now.
