The Hurricane season started today, so how many do you think will hit the United States anywhere from Maine to Texas? Now this is actually HIT, not just form, it also counts only Hurricanes level 1-5 not Tropical storms.

I took a Geohazards course last semester and my Prof said that the Gulf of Mexico was so warm in the winter, you could go swimming in it. Thats not a good sign.

I'm taking some Meteorology classes to finish up my geography degree. The two professors I had this past semester believe there will be 3. They both believe two will hit Florida. They say a cat 1 or 2 will hit near the fla/ala border. They also think a major hurricane will hit the west coast of Florida south of ft. myers. Now what they disagree on is the 3rd hurricane. ONe professors thinks it will hit the carolina coast and it would be a major hurricane. The other believes one will go up and hit the northeast as a cat 1 or 2. They think that there will be more tropical storms hitting us than hurricanes

I think "Tornado Alley" is what you're thinking, at least it's called that here all the time

just thought I'd bring this back for no good reason ;D
thus far we've been hit with 0 hurricanes, it was really close with Ernesto, but it could never get it's act together before it made landfall. There still a month or so of Hurricane season left, so one could still hit.
