Sure, he was creepy, and he had shitty leg tattoos, but dude played the psycho character to a T. Oh, and his music was pretty sweet.
But mostly, I just like the fact he used an arm triangle as a finisher. More people that aren't Braun Strowman doing a half-arsed one need to use an arm triangle as a finish.

I wasn't watching TNA at the time, and my buddies were telling me of this Patrick Bateman-esque character who was really interesting.
Then the first episode I watch has Mr. Anderson go to his mommy's house and reveal him as a demented simpleton with Oedipus tendencies.... I'm not sure why I expected anything different

Sam is looking pretty jacked these days. He's been doing fitness competitions and stuff.

He had the best t-shirt in wrestling history. Who wouldn't wear this on the street everyday?

I like that someone tried to turn the guy from Drive into a gimmick, mixed with some Dexter, but they went apeshit with it really quickly, and then they had him feud with Mr. Anderson. Because that always helps everybody.

It pretty much peaked with the first couple of Impacts it was on, then it declined from there and hit the absolute low point and one of TNA low points when they had him suffering from PTSD and they went with that angle.

He was an ok actor just not ring ready for tv time. I wouldn't rule out him getting another chance down the road.

I liked him, but man, that feud with Anderson just stopped all momentum he had. Him being reformed could have been a fantastic storyline, but once again you had Anderson. Everybody except for Anderson were cool with Shaw, even Christy seemed to be forgiving of the whole stalking shit Shaw pulled. Anderson treated Shaw like shit, and didn't believe he reformed, and we were supposed to like Anderson.
Mr Anderson ruins everything, except for Tito Ortiz showing up on Impact.

Started out with potential, but they just got way too goofy with it way too fast. Yeah, the guy is supposed to be crazy-but going from living in a swank apartment to in his mom's basement? And having Ken freaking Anderson, of all people, be Christy Hemme's white knight was about the lamest decision they could have made for his opponent.

I liked his look and ring attire, like if I was to make a psychopath stalker wrestler in a video game I would use the clothes Samuel Shaw wore.

Even with his limitations they had a lot of mileage with that character.
Imagine if Dusty Rhodes had that Patrick Bateman type persona to work with in Shaw. He was just a victim of TNA.

He had the look for the role he was booked for but his acting and wrestling chomps were no where close to sustain any growth.

how did we go from a great creep gimmick to being protective of a doll in a wig?

how did we go from a great creep gimmick to being protective of a doll in a wig? The TNA logo is exactly like holding up Mentos in a mentos commercial. It immediately gives a perfect explanation of anything.
