I wasn't paying attention to them in the tag match and noticed they were purple for the cruiserweight match and then the ad break came and then the backstage segment and was thinking they seriously aren't changing the ropes back now are they since the camera obviously isn't on the ring and sure enough next match up the ropes are red again. Now maybe rope changing just a quick little thing but damn does it seem unnecessary

I think they should have clear ropes.

Wonder if the tension is different for them.

Wonder if the tension is different for them. Well, the tension is done at the buckles, right? If so, the actual rope wouldn't matter. I wonder if the purple ropes are maybe cable? I admit to not seeing much of the CWC and the purple ropes tonight didn't seem to have the same wound look that the red ropes did.

The purple ropes themselves look good, but... Yeah, I don't, like, get the Cruiserweight thing. Why exactly should you care if it's treated as if a wholly unrelated show is interrupting the one you're watching? Changing the logos and nameplates and even the turnbuckle pads just makes it look about as out of place as if for fifteen minutes they just spliced in footage of old Betty Boop cartoons.

Did they really change the ropes? I thought they changed the color digitally when I first saw it. The edges of the ropes and the purple turnbuckle pads all looked kinda blurry.

They just covered the ropes with purple tape before the match, and took it off again after. youtu.be/kyu4QWwMGfI

Not a fan of the purple ropes, I don't mind the other graphics but it seems unnecessary.

My question is more along the lines of : "How are they going to explain why this 'RAW-exclusive' splinter (that is being treated as its own sub-brand) also shuttling its talents (Cedric, Lince) down to NXT, but treating them like regular NXT talents down there?"

I give this whole experiment like a month before they drop the purple ropes.
The graphics may stick around for a bit.

They just covered the ropes with purple tape before the match, and took it off again after. youtu.be/kyu4QWwMGfIThis. I was at SD live last week. It took almost no time to change. The purple designates cruiser matches to give them a little bit more of their own identity. I can't for the life of me see how this is a big deal.

Then again I was thinking they'd wrap it when it looks like they laid one or two long strips over them. Their ring crews are really fun to watch at times.

I want them to have a dark canvas, like NXT. Or, one with the show logos.

I give the rope colors until November before they join the original New Era Raw set. I like them, though.

They just covered the ropes with purple tape before the match, and took it off again after. youtu.be/kyu4QWwMGfIYep, although it was hilarious watching the cavalcade of ring personnel waiting for the match to be over so they could quickly change the ropes back.
