SmackDown Live comes to you from THE WHALE'S VAGINA this week as they're in San Diego! And it's the go-home show for Sunday's No Mercy PPV in Sacramento, so we're gonna get some good stuff to set things up...
There'll be a debate... but this time in the ring, as AJ Styles and his two challengers for the WWE World Title, Dean Ambrose and John Cena, will get a chance to air out their feelings five days before No Mercy. And given the words that Ambrose and Cena have slung at each other on Talking Smack in recent weeks, this one could get pretty tasty. I wonder if they'll dig up any four year old tweets and deny them (not a problem with Ambrose, who doesn't use his Twitter)... still, pretty much a certain that it'll dissolve into fisticuffs.
Dolph Ziggler has put his WWE career on the line to get one more shot at the Intercontinental Title held by The Miz. After countless missed opportunities, Ziggler is putting his chips on the table in order to be a champion again, and The Miz has ensured that this doesn't mean Ziggler simply signs with RAW or goes down to NXT. What lengths will Ziggler go to in order to ensure that he keeps his WWE career alive and wins the IC Title? What lengths will Miz go to in order to make sure that Ziggler is gone for good?
Alexa Bliss made several Becky Lynch fans very unhappy last week by attacking the SmackDown Women's Champion from behind on the stage when Lynch was on her way for a match against an unidentified opponent. But all this has seemingly done is increase the STRAIGHT FIRE that Becky plans to bring this Sunday. What plans does Bliss have tonight to further assert an advantage at No Mercy?
After attacking Chad Gable's knee, the Usos turned their attention to Heath Slater's knee in order to get the win in an eight man tag last week. Jey and Jimmy are using Konnan's old Tequila Sunrise to devastating effect, and SmackDown Tag Team Champions Slater and Rhyno now have a target on them for this Sunday. Will Slater be able to go in five days, and be able to provide for his ever growing number of children?
Randy Orton got embroiled in a farcical game of cat and mouse with Bray Wyatt last week, being given the run around by the Eater of Worlds in several bizarre backstage segments, but they're finally going to meet at No Mercy. Will Orton gets his hands on Wyatt tonight, though?
Following weeks of facts, Curt Hawkins is promising a major announcement tonight in what looks like his first in-ring appearance since returning to WWE. Will the Prince of Queens have a match this Sunday, and who will step up to take him on?
Will tonight be the night that Nikki Bella finally gets her one on one match with Carmella? The Princess of Staten Island (bit similar to the Prince of Queens I know) has tormented Bella ever since SummerSlam, and more often than not has kept scoring cheap wins over her in tag team matches and multi-person matches. But will it be a different story one on one? And will it be No Disqualification as GM Daniel Bryan has kept hinting at?
All this and much more from 8/7c on USA, followed on the WWE Network by the (not yet) Award Winning Talking Smack~!
