The whole library including present stuff? Just old footage?

How TNA would it be if they couldn't even access their own video library since they couldn't afford to license it from WWE?
Then again, might wait for more sources on this one.

Is there any point in WWE getting the tape library if you don't also get the TNA name so the library can be properly marketed? But in all seriousness with Corgan talking about wanting to rebrand anyway, selling off a name they won't be using and a tape library they aren't in position to make real money off of and essentially re-booting with the same roster and tv deals isn't the most ridiculous thing they could do at this point.

Makes sense to be fair, why would they want to buy the whole company when they could just buy the library and make money off that. I would imagine by doing this they would be far more inclined too acknowledge their presence as they will likely have it on the Network and on DVD's etc. They could just come to an agreement with them to be able to market the name. The companies would just have to work together.

They use NWA footage just fine without the trademarks, and you'd have to think any deal for TNA would include the rights to use the trademarks to use the footage, if not outright ownership.

It's an interesting situation. Ignoring the 'Dur hur stoopid TNA suxx' stuff for now, selling the library could clear up a large chunk of TNA's debt and make it so the remains of the company, and the remains could be picked up by Corgan, Sinclair or whoever for a fraction of what it's currently going for. Without the library, they would be down the biggest asset, but it's one they weren't able to market effectively anyway, the bottom fell out of that side of the business during the Bischoff/Hogan era and without an online platform of their own they're unlikely to realise it's value without selling it.
Assuming Corgan buys it, he'll get a bunch of TV deals, some good (International), some bad (Pop), a fairly talented roster and a bad reputation so the next 2 months should be interesting, if he gets it, I see massive changes on the horizon to De-Dixie/Jarrett the company, I'd be surprised if at the end the only TNA guy left is Borash. Of course, knowing Dixie, she'll demand to be a part of it and Corgan will walk away as the company burns to the ground.

Say this is true, and TNA sells off their library while still remaining in business, as it sounds like some are suggesting. This has to be a first in the wrestling industry, right?

If this is true, this may in fact be the crowning LOLTNA Moment if they refuse to die while simultaneously selling their own Library as a basic retcon of their entire history...

WWE bought OVW's tape library up to a certain year, and that promotion is still active. ovwrestling.com/

I can't friggen wait to watch the first episode over and over on the Network in high quality.
I've been wanting to make some higher quality GIFs for Cheex and the garbage-can-masturbating-midget for a long time.
