Stupid shit. What i would have done is have Becky vacate the belt, have Alexa win by default, Be an obnoxious bitch about it, then Becky comes back and win the title back and then keep the feud going

With Becky maybe being out for 1 month, I think they'll do a small storyline between Alexa/Naomi. Better than having nothing to do.

Wonder if every month SmackDown's going to have a random last minute substitute and then have the obvious filler (both in obviously only being filler, and it being obvious who the filler's going to be) win when they have no business doing so. They're two for two.

Yeah it gives Alexa something to do until Becky is back and sets something up should Becky not make it back by the Scotland match. I wasn't a fan of it but it makes sense.

I'm shocked people didn't see that coming from a mile away once they announced Becky was out and Alexa would face somebody else.
When a scheduled participant in a match cannot wrestle and they have a replacement, the replacement wrestler always goes over. It's one of the unwritten rules of wrestling.
We saw it just last month at Backlash with Kane beating Wyatt, which made even less sense because Wyatt really needed a win.

She should've one. Naomi has no business winning ever.

I didn't really pay attention to the match that closely, but yeah that was a shocker. They should have had Alexa beat Naomi, win a tag match over Nikki and Naomi and really torture Nikki, and then beat up Nattie for good measure. So that way when Becky comes back, Alexa is a raging bitch who has kicked the shit out of everyone and needs to be conquered. What they did makes no sense, and I'm not even really an Alexa fan.

Can't you have her walk out of the match, or be disqualified?
Does she have to job clean, in the middle of the ring?!

It didn't really surprise me that much, but still thought it was totally stupid. And really I never buy, "Well, that's just how wrestling does things," as an excuse. Wrestling has a long and storied history of bad writing, just the fact it keeps doing it shouldn't be given a pass.

Not a fan of it but I guess the logic of it was to set up a TV mini feud to keep Alexa busy until Becky gets back next month. Still think that there was better ways of going about it though.

I'm not saying that "replacement always wins" logic even applies when it comes to a minor match like Alexa/Naomi, but that's the thinking behind it. I don't think anyone would have minded if Alexa had won, or if Bray had beaten Kane at Backlash.

It doesn't make storyline sense but I think Naomi should be getting a chance anyway so I'm biased. Naomi gets a lot of criticism but I wouldn't say Carmella or Alexa are any better in the ring AND the Smackdown women are all booked close to equal.
It is kind of dumb but Alexa is gonna get it back.

It makes sense. In combative sports, people aren't exactly thrilled when people are replaced for fights, because you trained for someone else. If they sold that a bit more commentary, that'd be better.

Like with Bray losing to Kane, I think it's just a case of give-a-babyface-a-win just to help to send the crowd home happier since the outcome doesn't really matter anyways.

Yeah, Alexa was in a bad position here. Becky's out so they bring in someone to fill the spot. If Alexa wins, she has nothing to do for a month. If she loses, they have something to keep her on TV in an angle rather than just random matches, so this was the lesser of two evils booking.

I like Naomi so I don't mind her winning, only that the match should have been longer. I think Naomi has been great since being on Smackdown and they probably used Becky's injury as a chance to boost her up. A Triple Threat Match for the Women's Smackdown Title should be fun if that's the endgame.

I know people love Alexa and all, but come on. It's not like she be an invincible world beater.
She needs a feud before Becky. This builds up Naomi a little. Becky might has two programs when she comes back (or a three way fued).
My own complaint (and this is also a compliment) is that taking the original match away, makes me want to see is more. Like it's this long arguous journey that we finally get to see in a foreign country near Becky's home (though, Scotland, not Ireland). The only problem is, the Heel is getting the long chase going through roadblocks to get to the face champion to get to long awaited title match in Scotland.

It works if they push that Alexa was prepared for one person until the day of the show then her opponent got switched. That way it builds Naomi and gives Alexa an out.
She's a heel, so it gives her something to bitch about. I think she'll be just fine.
